Looks like a gate but there is no explication to its symbolism

Yummy book. One of Crowley's best. Brilliantly sucks one through a pathworking. My version has a montage with Crowley's face and a lot of symbols and stuff though.

Gaddammit, I meant to get this one back when I got Commentary On The Holy Books And Other Papers, The Equinox IV pt. 1.... This is pt. 2. And yet, throughout the one I own, pt. 1, there is constant reference to Liber 418 ! (Also, I have no clue about the first half of the book, which relates to the inner degree system of the AA.)

93 All,
My take on it is that it is the mouth of Choronzon waithing to devour the Adept. The result of the confrontation is either destruction of the Adept (i.e., not ready for the attempt) or Choronzon is realised for what "it" is...the illusion of difference.
my 2 pennies.
