How do I find out what entities are sympathetic to me?

How do we know what types of people are sympathetic with us? Look into your personality for a start.

Sometimes spirits make themselves known to you, sometimes a name will jump at you from a list, sometimes they create a real world synchronicity... Like yesterday at work I was dozing at my work point, when a bird (Great Tit ) flew inside and was singing near me, which was insanely cool. It jumped around for some time, and I also got a name in my mind, "Decarabia", which I remember being one of 72 djinni of Solomon but nothing more. I read more about him and learned that he was connected with birds (yeah, this could be easily explained with subconscious memory but why spoil my illusions, lol.) Sounds like bs of course but that's what made it magical-ish, the improbability. I can't think of anything Decarabia might want from me or I from him at this point, though.


Edit: or did you mean sympathetic as in 'kind'? I think the same rule still applies; like attracts like. Though I doubt you'll have any problems with the listed spirits, unless you get on their nerves some way. Even then they have a lot more patience than humans.

Thank you for your input. The question came to me when I was reading an article on evoking entities. The article said to make sure the entities are "sympathetic to you. I wasn't quite sure how to interpret that. I mean, I know when people are but how the heck do I know if an entity beyond this realm is?

You get a feeling, just like with pepole if somone want you well or not. But to make the chance of them being sympathetic to me greater I will approach a Spirit I am working with with humility, friendship and respect.

Divination is a really valuable tool as well for helping us answer questions like which spirits might be sympathetic to us and to a particular working. Some magickal practitioners will perform a divination before each ritual or spell to determine if it is wise to go ahead or not, and then after to see if it is likely to succeed.

Tarot cards are popular and very flexible for answering all sorts of questions. Any form of divination will work though if you are creative in how you use it.

Are you sure the article doesn't just mean sympathetic as in favorable to whatever it is you want to do?

Example... you want to get the attention of the girl next door....so you choose a spirit that has connections to love and what not. This would say that the spirit is sympathetic to your cause - as in... supposedly more likely to do what it is you want to do.

But if you are looking for sympathetic as in mimicing your true nature...only you can answer that one.

And the whole kind thing...that's all relative. I've seen people moon over one spirit or another saying how wonderful and lovely they are....and then others say how hateful and strange the same spirit was to them....even destructive. Relative individual perception.

Venefica, Thank you for your input. I appologize if this seemed like too simplistic of a question. Being a new practiopner I read things very carefully and try not to make too many assumptions about what i read. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't like some ritual, spell or ceromony that needed to be done to ensure this.

My intent in all my endevours is to do so with humility, respect & friendship.

As for the spelling grammar thing, no worries here. That is why I major in Math..LOL. The only time I will bring it up is that if I am unclear about something you are stating, not to be judgemental.

bgruagachm, Thank you for taking the time to share your insight on this question. I will make myself more familiar with the term divination.

I do not personally feel compelled to use of tarrot cards. Perhaps this is out of nievity to them I don't know. There seems to be to much randomness to me with them. Of course, I speak of this having never really tried a tarrot card reading.

Enso, I guess that makes the most obvious sense to me. Thank you for your insight & the link

im developing my scrying/remote view abilities...but in the same time i have huge knowledge about biblic scripts...there is a method to make a difference between the spirits...if a spirit tries to gain your trust...put it to repeat your words: "Jesus Christ is the Lord!"...or..."Jesus Christ is the only God"...u will be surprised to see that 90% of the spirits that try to contact u are demonic spirits...they refuse to repeat the words...
This is my advice...i tryed it and it works...i never heard the voices again and i can develop my abilities without any whispers...good luck

Why is a spirit "demonic" because it refuses to acknowledge your religion?

It may seem 'demonic' to you if it won't do what you want...lol

So if the Spirits are not acting like trained monkeys, do not communicate in words, as many Spirits do not or do not acknowledge Christianity as the one, true way then they are demonic. No my dear, by that definition what surprises me is not that 90 percent of Spirits fit your definition of demons, what surprises me is that you find 10 percent of Spirits that are not demonic in your world view. What surprises me even more is that enough Spirits want to talk to you for you to set statistics on it by the way you treat them.

If the mage chooses to see Jesus Christ as a protective figure, I see no particularly good reason to discount the invocation of his name as an effective guard against energies that that individual would not like to do business with.

Good point, same as with the invocation of Saints as well.

Lots of pros and cons on this, and basically it comes down to what a person believes himself.

well i do not practice magic because I do not demand the universe to give me my way

and if I do demand then I recognize my foolishness and ask for forgiveness for such a thing

i do not worry much as my allies are great and I have won their companionship through many trials and tribulations

so the demons and negative beings do not bother me much

and my mind stays strong and vigilant

but when they do get through and stick me with their poison darts it is only to teach me a lesson about something about myself

it's not very wise to put your magic on me

not that I am particularly great or powerful

Thats true usually when a beetle flies around me and lands on my shoulder its a message from TOTH, wants to talk to me, (beetles symbol for TOTH) The Goddess Yemaya, a big roach I usually see one around, one time i was standing in front of the house at night and a bug flew on my chest real hard like a thump , so i thought it was a beetle and when i looked down twice, freaked out and it ran into the grass and instantly disapeared and i contacted YEMAYA, to chill with the roach thing YUK..(yemaya goddess santeria and voodoo the roach is her symbol)
I wish VENUS had one, like a hot blond run into me..lol=D
