Well, maybe trolling, but possibly drunk too, because normally the troll fanatics, whether atheist or theist, hang out at Y!A ... Ah, well, it amused me for a moment.

I am going to admit that I get this negative feeling when I hear someone are Atheists. I know that is wrong of me to do, it is judgmental and prejudiced, and I know most Atheists are nice pepole. But I have had so many Atheists tell me that I am stupid and weak since I believe in anything Spiritual. I have gotten so used to a condescending, hateful attitude from Atheists who can not accept that others might hold different beliefs than them. I have even been attacked physically by a crazy woman who tore a cross jewelry from my neck and screamed at me that Christianity had been abolished. I have had so much negative experiences with Atheists that I myself have gotten negative towards them again. That sadly that is how the spiral of hate continues. One day I will meet a nice, intelligent and understanding Atheist, and I am going to not be able to hide my prejudice and that might be what makes him prejudiced towards religions pepole and then the circle never ends. Sadly.

essentially, I've found it's not the belief itself (or lack thereof), but how fundamentalist you are about it. Now this gentleman appears simply confused, but you, Venefica, have met, like me, a fundamentalist atheist. With spiritual questions, the most honest answer is "I have no proof, but I *believe* this...", and anyone saying "this *MUST* be true/untrue" is just not being honest.

The circle doesn't end, because opposing fundamentalists just keep on harping at each other. I do what I can to calm people, but obviously, I'm only one guy. But I still try, because it's worth it to calm things down and get *discussion*, not dogmatic behaviour going.

I agree with you. And off course it is fundamentalists, in any belief system which causes the problems. And I am trying to stop myself from contributing to the circle of hate, but it is very difficult sometimes as it is often the most fundamentalist Atheists who is most outspoken. There have also been a huge surge of Atheists tossing shit about everyone who believe in anything Spiritual or any alternative medicine in Norway. You see Norway is a Monarchy and the King's daughter, the Princess Martha is openly an occultist. She is running a new age school and have even written a book. Many Atheists is having an uproar about this and want the Princess silenced as she is creating more acceptance of alternative religion and new age and Spiritual lifestyles, as such they attack left and right any who is religious or who believe in anything. If you admit to being Spiritual on a Norwegian forum these days soon you are told you are a pitiful fool and insane and should be locked up and even more insulting things, and it is hard to not let that weave of hate affect how one thinks. I think about every Norwegian religions person and occultists have gotten harassed by Atheists since the Princess went out into the media with her school.

Atheism is far from dead- it's on the rise. Some might say this is the natural progression, some might say it's not true, but since most of my friends are atheists, I'll give my take on the situation.

Notice that Atheist luminaries of today are people like Richard Dawkins, Penn and Teller, and the 'Amazing Randy'. We have the front line skeptics who go around trying to disprove magic- an analysis of their methodologies shows they put the odds far in their favor, often requiring more proof than actual batteries of scientific tests. Penn and Teller's show, Bullshit!, goes on to tell people who believe in such things 'assholes'- not misguided, not mistaken, just assholes. We then see Richard Dawkins basically being a total dick to people, treating people with religious belief as if they are somehow stupid.

In the past, we had far less hostile luminaries like Sagan, but now we head towards an aggressive atheism that belittles those who disagree, cheats to prove it's point, and basically tries to bully people from an intellectual standpoint. We have, in essence, an Evangelical, born again, atheist movement, trying to cleanse the Earth of the disease of belief in the supernatural. While there are theories about war that suggest all struggles come down to a resource struggle, they glaze over this to concentrate on religion as the source of all war, all evil. They do not acknowledge any positives religion might provide and are doing their best to claim the minds of the people in a sort of anti-crusade.

This isn't to say all atheists are dicks, but I would say when it comes to ideologies, they begin to collect REAL assholes when they try to convince everyone. The first people to latch onto ideas tend to be true believers, intellectuals, but the next in line tend to be sheep looking for a sheperd and power hungry sharks who take advantage of said movements. As atheism grows, the worse it will look.

The problem is when the born again Atheists fronts Randy's reward and that no one have claimed it as proof that there are no magick. Well the problem is this. A the challenger would have to pay for the cost of the test, this could get very expensive and would definitely be beyond most people's budget, so we need someone already rich willing to go through that challenge to win money, that alone will shave allot of pepole off the list of those who might beat the challenge, all those to poor to afford the testing and all those who have money who do not bother to take the test to try to win more money.

Then we have that Randy reserves the right to refuse anyone he thinks comes up with a to outlandish or dangerous ability, so fakirs, out, pepole who live on light, out, well anyone Randy do not want in his challenge, out.

Then we have the clause in the challenge that Rnady can publish the findings of the experiments, with the full name of the challenger. Not this excludes allot of occultists who think a little. I mean, if suddenly you where all over the news, with full name as proved to have healing abilities for example, do you think you would ever have a minutes peace, pepole would run down your door, others might be afraid of your abilities and wish to harm you. How many of us would want that kind of publicity?

So to have someone win Randy's challenge we need an occultist with a measurable ability, which can be summoned on command, who Randy will allow to take the test, who have the money to pay for it and still are willing a go through such testing for a little more money and at the same time is willing to have their full name published to the press as having won the challenge if they are successful. How many do you think you will find who fit that description?

Also Randy have final say as to when something is proven, he can just refuse to pay out the reward, just ordering more and more tests done until the challenger either fail on something or run out of money. Randy say he want to stop hoaxes, well his entire challenge is a hoax, and still the born again Atheists carry it and point at it as if it was some golden calf, claiming that it is proof that there is nothing supernatural. But it proves nothing.

What of Self Apotheosis? God is Dead....I am my own God...long live [my] god.

What if just nothing and no one is dead but everyone is alive and happy?
