Sure I do. Here's a nice song, written in Gaelic (native language of scottland, now a "dead language" because of Britain Oppression).

I have some other songs, but they're not available on youtube. I'd have to upload them to a file sharing site or something. Tell me if you're interested.

Uh,not really Asmus,lol.

Gaelic has always been a language of the North and Western Seaboard,Highlands and Islands. My Mother in Law is a Gael, from South Uist, she's a fluent speaker,as are all her 10 siblings and other family members too.

We have several tongues, all are still active bar Pictish but there are remnants of it even now in place names etc, some tongues are 'pocketed' in certain areas.Where I 'm from much of our slang is cognate with Old Norse,as we interbred with the Norse Settlers and we also have many Welsh derived loan words,as Strathclyde was once a Brythonic kingdom.Doric from the North East has some similarities with our Lallans tongue too.

Wow, did not know that Nahemah. I heard it was a Scottish language, originally, and that britain pretty much wiped it out. This is the source of the apparent "false information", which I seem to have remembered incorrectly:

http://www.erinsweb.com/gae_index.html

I was wrong about it being Scottish, but it WAS spoken by the Irish, and Irish-Gaelic is what THAT song is written in. Irish-Gaelic is apparently derived from the Celctic language, so it's not surprising people in your region speak it also, just like the people of Britain and Spain share a common root language (Latin). I don't think they're the same language, but hey, I could be wrong. I'm no linguist. ::)

Ah, my bad. I was way wrong, and what's more, I misread what you wrote. Embarassment is mine. [blush]

So, essentially, the history of Gaelic:

The Celctic's brought it to Britain, Ireland, and other european countries. Then the anglo-saxon's came, and put their foot down on it (they arrived in Britain first, which is why I thought the British made an effort to exterminate Gaelic. They did; but really the anglo-saxon's did).

While we are on a Celtic roll,lol...

This song is a traditional ballad,a different version is used as the theme for Michael Collins [film],but for me,Feargal sings this with heart and soul,he reminds me of the singer's voice from the first time I heard this song,a long time ago. So it's my favourite version:

Celtic Rock with a Pagan twist:

"Some say the Gods are just a myth, but guess who I've been dancing with, the great God Pan is alive!. Εν-Δία-Φέρων."

http://youtu.be/BdyE8_7puPQ

I think I 'm diverging a bit here, but folk songs are also a good way to learn about the cultural history of the common folk and a lot of them are based on myth and legend,so rattling good tales as well as musical entertainment. [cool]
