Do you ever wear odd socks out in public/at work etc.,cos, well,nobody's gonna see em,right...? [yay]

My worries are mostly sock related today....

I wear odd socks all the time, but it's not like they're bright/vibrant colors, so even if someone saw it wouldn't matter.

And I think there's a sock fairy that steals mine :| He hides out under my bed and nicks them when I take them off before I go to bed. Bastard.

We have them,only ours are the house fetches.My two have a fondness for socks,lighters and copper coins.Sometimes the Lord of small things gets pissed off too, if we forget about him and he takes stuff and hides it also.Classic of this is that our stuff always reappears somewhere we'd have no reason to leave any of it,in odd places and corners.

We have three cats and I used to blame them,until the coins went walkies,the cats have no interest whatsover in coins [or in socks,really]but they do like skiting lighters around.However some of the places they turn up in are inaccessible to the cats.

Oh and my grandboy confirmed the fetches as culprits,lol, he's adamant it's them and he can see them flitting around doing it.He's not bothered and certainly not scared,he totally accepts they live here too.Kids r cool like that.

I wear odd socks all the time as well.I used to wear three pairs with my docs as I 've got long skinny feet,lol.I never bothered which three went on first or last,so I 'd have mibbe a red and black one showing,on either leg and if I pulled em up or down I could show two black or one of each or even the third colour in the mix up and this amused my friends kids for hours when they were little uns. [thumbup]

I get caught out for my odds quite often,but my walloper of a tattoo on my right leg kinda distracts folk from asking about the socks,lol.This is an unexpected but cool side effect of the tattoo.Who knew? [rofl]


As long as they are clean who cares what kinda socks yer wearing,really....only those with a serious and saddo outlook on life,in my opinion,anyway. [shock2] [eek] [lol]


My fave sox are a pair of skeletal feet,but both are left feet .....I got em cheap,cos it's a an obvious gaffe,lol..but oddly appropriate for me.I'm left handed and somewhat dyspraxic,so I am very amused by my two left feet.

I think it's fairly obvious that the original purpose of a dryer was to serve as a gateway to the Underworld for ancient Grecian ceremonies. After being filled with brimstone, there would be offerings of funeral shrouds, as well as small cloths and rites to Hades, Hecate and Persephone would be concluded by sealing the entrance of the gate with a round stone. The offerings inside were left for anywhere from thirty minutes to an hour while incantations were uttered and when reopened, the celebrant's vestments would have transmuted to the preferred state of their choosing.

Clearly modern convenience has built upon ancient tradition and the rulers of the underworld take socks as a material sacrifice just as our ancestors once offered so many years ago. That's why things dry in there without the use of spells or fire.

My other theory is The Sock Vortex. I don't know that I've ever lost a sock in the dryer, though. Certainly must be something going on, anyway, since missing socks is a world-wide phenomenon. But always just that one...

There's a couple of books I lost when I was 8 that I've signed off to The Sock Vortex. I know they're not socks, but I suppose if they were too close to The Sock Vortex, they could fall in.

I've worn my Garfield feet socks that came with a pajama shirt out. -----Jack Skelington socks. ----I was fairly known in high school for wearing mismatched socks. They did ask about it one day, because there used to be a girl that went to that school who wore mismatched socks, but she did it because it meant something, so they wanted to know if it meant something or otherwise. But no, for me it was just a lack of matching socks (which I suppose brings us back to the sock fairy/vortex issue).

Also, sometimes I can find matching colors, but from different pairs of socks. So, like they might be different textures or one might be long and the other one short.

My three eldest grandkids were staying here for a while and the sock vortex in our house went in to overdrive and the Cthonic ones demanded more and ever more appeasement...I think the youthful exuberance of young minds sends them into paroxysms of sock loving ecstasy.

Thomas the tank engine,stripey neons and Disney princess socks went missing the most.Go figure,even old ones it seems are into cartoons n a bit o sparkle,lol.
