Forms of Meditation

I was just curious on how others do their meditation.
I have read quite a bit on the subject and it seems that there are many ways.
Im Not saying any of them are wrong i was just curious how all you lovely chaps do it.
The way i start is i first, clean the room so there are no negative energies or distracting ones. Next i put on some loose clothes and sit in the middle of the room cross legged with my hands in my lap. As i sit there with my eyes closed I breath in and invision a bright light overcoming my whole body, and as i breath out the light diminishes. I do this for about a half an hour and it cleans my minds. I also tend to be able to practice things like pyrokinesis easier.
So how do you all meditate?

I sit cross-legged with my hands either in my lap or on my knees, and envision myself in a total void, mind, body, and spirit... If thoughts our feelings keep barging in on my peaceful void, I imagine a single flame within it that burns away the sensations.

It sounds ok but i have some questions...do you listen to some soft music while you meditate?Do you use any candles and essential oils or semiprecious stones? Which meditations do you prefer and after you are through, how do you ground your self?

This topic is in the wrong area, isn't it?
Well, there are many ways to meditate, of course. My current practice is kind of unusual. First, I do the LBRP both as a cleansing for the meditation and as a practice in itself. As I finish the second Qabalistic Cross, I remain in that position, and medidate, standing. My meditation focus on keeping the mind conscious, quiet and as thoughtless as possible. I remain this way from 5 to 20 minutes, depending on how much time I have.

I moved the post here...first time i move a post in a non Greek forum and i was anxious.Let's hope i haven't deleted the whole forum. [blush] I'm kidding...!! [happyface]
Now...as long as it concerns the way that you use,it's up to your desire.Personally and among others i prefer the Archangelic meditation.Animus is my music carpet and i certainly use candles, essential oils as well as angelite and other semi precious stones.

So sorry for placing it in the wrong area... [blush]
And no i dont listen to music, but i do use incense as it calms my mind, and im somewhat new to the whole grounding thing im what you would call a beginner to the occult.
Originally i was using the meditation for a mind clearing technique so it was easier to practice molecular agitation.
But what of grounding? What is it and how do you suggest i do it?

It's ok...i also did this my self a few times in the past. [wink]
I've posted yesterday i think about the magical uses of incense...since you use it,it might come in handy...now..some people suffer a lack of energy, while other people feel overwhelmed by the amount of energy they have.Grounding, helps to establish the perfect balance of energy, and it also has a very cleansing effect on your general vibration. Most people associate grounding with the spiritual element of Earth...so after you are done, you can visualise your self as a wonderful all blooming tree...now see all of the remaining energy going down from your head to toes (which now are roots in the ground)....so this is where you leave all of the energy...in the ground,in mother earth. This way you can force all of the negativity and maybe your own personal negativity, doubts, fears and stress down into the roots with it !!
Another method is to use a semiprecious stone like tourmaline. You hold the stone in your left hand and you visualise all of the remaining energy entering the tourmaline. Then you bury the stone in a pot for 24 hours and you are done.
Other people use their wand to ground or even their personal athame.

Hey, so I know this thread's a little old, but I haven't talked to anyone about my meditation in a few years.
Generally, I go through all these practices when I wake up, before I get dressed. I do the First Nine breathes (or something like that) from Tibet to cleanse myself, and then I do a few yoga poses. I started doing yoga because I noticed my legs getting restless while I was meditating, so getting my legs nice and stretched seemed like a good idea, but I see now that it also helps put my mind in the right place. Then I go sit on my bed with my back against the wall and I'll normally sit with my feet on my thighs and my hands on my knees. Then I breathe through my chakras and say hello to spirit buddies and anyone else around. Then I just try to focus on breathing, or sometimes I'll think a mantra to myself. Sometimes I try to connect with my element. but my breathing does feel a little manual, but I feel like it's normal for my breathes to become deeper as I relax. Then, before I go to bed I will sit in the same place in the same way, but I go straight to focusing on breathing on or sometimes, if I'm not feeling well, I'll breathe through my chakras again.
I've used incense and candles and I have a lot of stones/gems, but I don't really know how to use them. I mostly just use the incense to practice connecting with the air and because they smell good.
I've just heard the term grounding today, would anyone say that that is a part of my practice? I think I am going to start thinking of my surroundings more

Pec, Etar gave good advice. I would also suggest designing your own temple, temple opening ritual including proceders etc. And obviously an LBR, Middle pillar, regular chakra work, visualization exercises, concentration exercises. If you are serious about magick, then this is very very important. You will know why after you achieve adeptship. You should practice different Asanas, treat ritual and meditation like an ahtlete does excercise. Invoke often- and i quote. He said that for a good reason. It is in this practice that you will develope whats called magickal skills/tools. These will come in handy later- as i have said.
Need any more help them Pm me.
