My current deck is showing signs of its age, like me, it's a bit wrinkly around the edges!

I've been looking around at the available decks, and there are so many, but I was drawn to this deck, Necronomicon Tarot, and would like to hear your thoughts on its practical usage and application.

I haven't worked with this deck,no,I was unaware of it's existance till you posted.

I noted the below in the review from ET site,so it's part Necronomicon, part Tyson, really ....

n his introduction, Tyson notes that some of the creatures found within this book come from H.P. Lovecraft's writing, and some from his own series on Alhazred. He also mentions that the first time some of these creatures have ever been describes are within the pages of this companion book. Effort has been made to make this a fully functioning Tarot deck, with attention paid to astrological associations and the sequence of the trumps (which follows the Golden Dawn tradition).

Thanks for the info. I've ordered the deck. Unsure how useable they'll be - working with them, that is- but I do like a challenge!

Hi johnnathan,

Apart from my old, tatty cards, I've never used any other deck. It's inexplicable why I chose this deck. I sensed "darkness" when I initially saw them; but they still called to me... and I'm about to contact Amazon, as the ordered cards have yet to materialize!

I'll let you know how I get on with them, and thanks for your thoughts on this deck.

I truly am sorry to hear that you and your wife had to bear that misery. There is nothing more devastating than losing a new life, I should know, it took 13 failed pregnancies before I finally had my daughter. I sincerely empathize with you both.

Similarly, I fell out of belief with my cards when they indicated my husband would die in eleven days. Btw, he was terminally ill at the time I asked the question, but was doing well, laughing, joking, eating well - on the surface his imminent demise wasn't apparent. Eleven days later he died...and it's taken me a considerable time to come to terms not only with his death, but with the answer the cards gave to my question. The cards, imho, never lie, it's the interpretation that's sometimes difficult to assess and accept.

It is sad but the positive thing is she is pregnant now, i want a daughter myself. I'm sorry to hear that about your husband i couldn't imagine losing a love one like that. Your right the cards never lie some times we find that out the hard way.

QFT.

I 'm sorry for both your losses, but delighted in your achievements.

Congratulations Johnathon,to you and your partner, daughters are lovely,by the way,but hard work, lol.I have four. [thumbup]

I stopped reading for other people, through similar circumstances.I saw truths that were ineffable, but I couldn't prevent any of what I saw,the dice had already been cast and even the best of advice fell on deafened ears and blinded eyes.It made me feel very sad and eventually,a bit more than cynical.

I once read at a fundraising fair for a hospice. One woman came in and she asked about her husband, cards said death was pending, but as you mentioned Wazzup, that wasn't news to her,or to anyone.

So I ended up putting the cards down and just sitting talking with her.I advised taking the chance to remember all the good times and happy memories and to prepare herself as best she could,to sit with him and just be together, while they could.I think she just needed to unload and be able to talk about her fears and sadness.

She'd been brave and positive for everyone else in the family's sakes and she had no one to express her own 'weaknesses' to.I gave her a big chunk of rose quartz, from my pocket to take with her.[I like to carry stones sometimes, especially when working like this,in a public place.]

I used to get a lot of clients like that, often the cards got put down and we'd just talk, over a cup of tea or coffee.Communities are fractured these days, people don't seem to have time for each other, neighbours don't talk anymore,as life is so busy and full of stresses,so much so that many people bottle things up till they are ready for meltdown. It's Sad.

Like others have said, I was also fascinated by this deck and immediately decided that I've got to have it.I still wonder why. First of all, I wasn't such a big Necronomicon fan, I didn't quite agree with the way the cards depicted the world and even though I do like Anne Stokes, this deck was too different than her previous artwork and it didn't quite appeal to me. In spite of all this, I still wanted it. It usually takes a lot of time for me to decide before ordering something off the internet, especially when it's something as personal as a tarot deck, but this was not the case.

I only did a couple of readings and then the cards let me know that magic would be a much more better use for them. So I've been using them for magic and indeed, I feel that this is what they were meant for.

About the readings : I was surprised by how fast I got attuned to the cards and how easily I could read them . The readings weren't negative, they were accurate and very insightful.

I'm sorry for the people who have had a bad experience with this deck, I believe I would also stop using a deck if something like that happened to me.
