Repurposing a dream catcher

Is it possible to repurpose a dream catcher? And if so, what is a good way to go about it?
By repurposing, I was thinking something along the lines of using it to get certain kinds of dreams instead of the traditional keeping out bad dreams and only letting in good dreams. Like, where you can have it give you dreams that will answer a question you've been wondering about, or even something open ended so that I can use it to do whatever strikes my fancy before bed, like question answering one night and the next, a dream that leaves me feeling happy.
Oh...do you think I could use it to induce lucid dreams?

Doesn't sound too hard to crack.
I would take a small trinket, make a servitor, put it on the dream catcher and command the servitor into manipulating the dream catchers effect into whatever you want it to do.
We can call the servitor "Wasp".

A dream catcher is a tool that feeds on belief in order to operate. In essence, its a servitor in its own right - it has form and purpose and is programmed to catch bad dreams.
In order to re-purpose it, all you need to do is re-program its servitor element. This is easily done in exactly the same way you create a new servitor, the new servitor taking over the older dream catcher servitor and modifying it to let through the dreams you're after. Kalcolindo also has a valid alternative - create a new servitor using a bead or feather or something and then introduce the servitor into the dream catchers physical make-up. This should achieve the same goal.
And no, I doubt you can make a dream catcher that gives lucid dreams. The servitor could provide dream landscape that you can use lucidly, but the actual lucid dreaming will have to come from you.

Thanks! I've never made a servitor before, though. I think that would be beyond my abilities at this point.

I like the Bavarian word for "thingamajig" - "Dinksbumps" (pronounced dinks-boomps)

I'm rather partial to 'dingus'.
Bogart used it to describe the Maltese Falcon.

Why stop at dreams? I would repurpose it using its filter element. you could use it to filter out bad luck let through good, or illness/health, or love/hate...
as pretty much all magic (IMHO) involves some sort of filtering it could be repurposed to achieve almost anything.
You could also use it to symbolically represent the web of wyrd in a ceremonial or sorcery context.
in short: I want one! [thumbup]

I think I would probably re-thread the dreamcatcher, or make a new one for the purpose, but maybe that's just my style, I'd make the dreamcatcher while bearing the intention in mind right through. They're not very hard to make, all you really need is a hoop and some thread, it's a little trickier to explain, but if you search for a video on it, it's easy enough to learn
