so you probs have a big fascination with ancient egypt because: 1. it's neat, but you already said it's more than that so... 2. there's something in it you need to learn, which usually comes about because your... 3. guide wants you to find something out about it.

pretty much all of us here had been drawn to and stuck on one particular paradigm in our lives. it's what you do with that info that makes it meaningful. i'm not going to agree or disagree that you have something big and important to do, because some people actually do (look at all those people who run the world), but either way it seems like you should get in contact with some of your spirit guides.

ever done any meditation? automatic writing? etc? that's where people usually start, or at least the easiest way to get answers about yourself. if you need any help with that, there are PLENTY on here who are experienced and more than willing to give advice, such as myself.

p.s. those tats are gonna huuuuurrrrrttttttt, let me tell youuuuuu
know why? that tat artist is gonna have to SHOVEL INTO YOUR HAND in order to get the ink to stick. they might have to do it a few times, and it doesn't tickle. it tears through so many nerves you feel like you're getting electrocuted. i know. i gave myself an eye tat on my hand.

Ah,the Ancient Egypt,yes...
Reemerging of the brotherhood,I see it clearly,it seems that those who perceived and experienced it in the past are going
to do so again, the history is repeating itself. The spiraling flux chose its representatives,or they chose it,who knows...
Back to the topic,I think that I can,if anything, point you in the right direction.
I would advise you to read The Kybalion by the Tree Initiates as a starting point, meditating on its principles to form
certain analogies within the mind.
Next would be Initiation into Hermeticism by Franz Baradon,a practical book of most useful kind, noting that
mastery of the excericises is essential for any kind of reasonable progress.
The former represent the pearls of the Arts, and penetrating these teachings will bring you deep understanding of workings of reality itself.
As a side note, scriptures ascribed to Thoth(Hermes) are viewed as foundations of hermetic sciences, and as such will represent a great value for you too,Im assured. There even may be some deja vu phenomenon apparent when the notion of understanding arises, the consciousness remembering its repressed fragments which, acknowledged, form a basis of your perception, its expansion and receptivity. These words of mine will have a far greater meaning and impact once you develop an understanding of its practical application.

You begin your mission with small steps, as Jack said. Meditation is perhaps the most important because focus of the mind is a basic part of how magic works. If you are having difficulty because you "can't concentrate so well", then you need to do a little more research into method in order to realize that meditation is an absence of concentration, an absence of thought. Maybe you're just not doing it quite right. Yoga can help with this, and I'm sure if you look around where you live you'll be able to find some places that are either very inexpensive, or that run Karma-yoga classes for free. In any event, it sounds to me like you need a bit of practical coaching --no offense intended.

The Egyptian thing is tricky... Although there is nothing wrong with following an Egyptian paradigm, the Occult community is full of folks that have had internalized experiences with Ancient Egyptian symbology; who adhere to an Egyptian paradigm; and even many who claim to be descended from or reincarnated from Ancient Egyptian priests, kings, queens, etcetera. Please don't fall into this. The vast majority of them are dellusional, and tend to be viewed critically by other more experienced members of the community. In spite of this though, AE isn't a bad place to start. There is a wealth of quality, academically produced information about Ancient Egyptian culture --including their religio-magical system, which will give you a really good, sound place to start. My only advice would be to stay away from translations by Wallis Budge. His translations are now circa 100 years out of date, and much has been learned since that gives new and clearer understanding of the texts. I would recommend the works of Geraldine Pinch as a place to start. She is a current/living/employed Egyptologist who works specifically on Egyptian magic and religion, and has written a number of books on the subject, including a collection of myths. Miriam Lichtheim is another scholar who published a three volume set of myths and tales from ancient Egypt; and finally, when you go looking for a copy of "The Ancient Egyptian Book of The Dead," a.k.a. "The Papyrus of Ani", again avoid Budge and go for the translation by R.O. Faulkner. The paperback version is relatively inexpensive and has colour plates of the original papyrus.

The Kybalion is a good read as far as the fundamentals of Hermetic philosophy go, and there is some considerable speculation about the early 20th Century Occultists Paul Foster Case and William Walter Atkinson having been two of the Three Initiates. It is not an ancient text, though, and should not be taken as such regardless of the value of the writing. You can find a copy of it here for free: http://www.kybalion.org/

Since you're looking for introductory material you might want to consider looking at Donald Michael Kraig's "Modern Magick" as a place to start. Franz Bardon's contribution to the field of Occult Study is without question, but it is also quite abstract and so can be intimidating to those who are new to all of this.

Peter J. Carroll's "Liber MMM and Psychonaut" is also a really good introductory text, and lays out a course of study in basic magical technique originally for use by members of the IOT.

There is actually a ton of this material available for free on the web. Check these two places out:

I hope you find this helpful.
Good luck on your quest. [geek2]
