astrology and timings

Hello all, long time lurker but my first actual post!

I have been scratching around for a while trying to find a comprehensive book or tutorial on the subject of using astrology to time your rituals. I have some general ideas in this direction, retrograde planets, planetary hours and days, houses and aspects etc, but I have to confess that some of the finer points of using astrology to empower your rituals and find the most auspicious time is not firmly grasped in my mind.

Can anyone offer advice, book recommendations or point me towards an online tutorial?

Many thanks in advance :)

Janice.

A list from Renauissance Astrology site.

I recommend Agrippa and you can access his work here:

Here's a page with a handy wee tool on it too:

Very decent of you.
I am following those link right now to have a read.
Whilst I am fairly well read on a lot of occult 'classics' I haven't gone very deeply with Agrippa. Perhaps I should pick up that Tyson annotated edition that has called me from the shelf a couple of times.
Many thanks :)

The Tyson edition is good, and the notes are an immense benefit.
There's also "Commentaries on the Occult Philosophy of Agrippa," by Willy Schrödter (Red Wheel/Weiser ©2000), which is a good accompaniment when the going gets slow.

I have ordered a copy of the Tyson edition. I have quite a good occult library, I have no idea why it has taken me so long to tackle Agrippa! I tend to enjoy Tyson's writing style, I find him very accessible and so that will probably provide a good counterpoint to Agrippa.
Also, thanks for mention of the Schrödter commentaries, I shall have a look into that and probably get a copy as well if this helps getting the most out of Agrippa's work.

@Nahemah, the links you kindly provided are making for interesting and informative reading.
