Help identifying

Hello.

As I passed down at a shortcut I usually use, I have come across the following:

Image

It consists of a porcelain mug with water (or maybe other than water?) on it; 6 long brown cigarettes pointing to different directions and 1 at the top of the mug, all been lit; 7 nails; 7 red flowers; and black candle wax. I wonder what the greyish thing around the mug is.

I was with a friend of mine and neither of us touched it, we just walked by it and left it where it was, obviously in great astonishment. A few days later, I in my curiosity went there again and it was gone.

Would anyone know what this means or represents? Why would someone do this, with what the purpose? I have always sensed something not ordinary around those paths at which I found this, I guess I was not the only one.

First up,well done for not disturbing it. [grin]

I would speculate the paths cross nearby?

Could be a crossroads rite, they are very popular these days, but I'm not sure of much more than that.

The ashes,I'm not sure about, [the grey dust around the mug]at least, as to what is their purpose here.I can speculate, but I'd rather wait and see if anyone else may know more.

You are correct, 3 pathways cross.

Banishing maybe? The cigars and flowers could be for stress relief and the black candles and nails could be to get rid of it.

Wow... interesting find! Im afraid I can offer no more than anyone else, except that those flowers look to be peonies. I found a link here of magick uses and associations which might shed some light.

Given the cigars, my guess is that this is related to Santaria or a Caribbean magical practice. Since the colors red and black are present and between the cigars and flowers it totals 13, my guess is that the Orisha connected with this is Eleggua.

You could begin researching it from the platform.

It is most likely that the person who did it was banishing something which you can not know of cause now but to my advice since it has become clear that there is a witchcraft practitioner in your area, try to avoid cross roads because you may not know what you will find next.
