I do a lot of spirit-working (establishing reciprocal relationships with spiritual entities) and have experience with the powers of land spirits, deities, and wandering entities. However I have no knowledge of what the classical elemental beings (sylphs, gnomes, undine, and salamanders) are capable of. I would like to make clear that I have no interest in ceremonial magic relating to this topic, nor of elemental rulers and other such things. I wish to work with the elementals present in natural and urban surroundings (streams, wind, parks, fires...). Can anybody help me with this?

The best thing is to go into there environment by yourself, show respect and ask politly whatever you may ask. Don't hesitate to ask loudly and clearly.
Important is to follow your feeling if you want to encounter anything in this direction. There are no clear rules. If you look at a earth wall and may see a root pooring out of it and a few crumbs forming a grining face, just laugh. If you hear the wind humming through the trees, hum with it. Feel, what is around you, feel pulse and movement around you when you are there. That is how you begin to work in this environment.

The world is filled with Lesser Elementals. I think it's smart to try to learn about them and their nature before you begin purposely interacting with them.
