Summoning, Magick, and Experiances?

Post by silverfox615 »

so just wondering does anyone here give demon or angelic summoning any ground. as clearly state the JOS people are not to be followed but I've found referencing to summoning on various unrelated sites. I really just stumbled upon this stuff researching a college course but im really interested. i found some of the experience people claim to have and things the claim to see are similar to things ive experienced with lucid dreaming, sleep paralysis, and to be honest i used to be big into hallucinogens. which my research has informed is possibly related to the origin of all religion, spiritualism, and magick. so just wanna know what you guys think are these things worth pursuing in free time? let me know thanks for you're time

I have yet to meet a magician worth his salt that practices casually and only in his free time. I've met plenty that claim to or aspire to, but none with much actual skill. Every single one of the genuinely skilled practitioners I've encountered practice and study with seriousness and dedication, and every single initiate and adept that I have encountered don't just practice their art -- they live it.

It's good to take things slow and explore ideas. There's no rush to jump in and start evoking (an art which has prerequisites anyway). But I wouldn't tell an athlete that he can be a professional if he only practices in his free time, and neither will I tell you that you will gain much magical ability or spiritual development if you only explore the arts in your free time.
