'17 seconds for a thought to reach a combustion point'

I didn't know into which sub forum I should put this...
I read an interview with this girl, a motivational speaker influenced by 'The Secret' and 'Ask and it is given'. She mentioned the 17 seconds rule, and a 68 seconds rule. I googled a bit and basically it is said that after 17 seconds of a pure thought 'a thought/vibration is released into space'. And, anything that is thought about less than 17 seconds won't have any effect.
It also gets specific (a bit too much specific if you ask me)...
In talking about the leverage of 17+17+17+17=68 seconds of pure thought, Abraham offers the following information:
17 seconds is worth 2,000 man-hours (about a year at 40 hours per week of action taken) 34 seconds is worth 20,000 man-hours (or about 10 years...) 51 seconds is worth 200,000 man-hours (or about 100 years...) 68 seconds is worth 2,000,000 man-hours (or about 1000 years...)
That's two MILLION man-hours (or woman hours!) If we can learn to offer pure thought energy for 68 seconds at a time, action becomes INCONSEQUENTIAL!

Apparently, this 17 seconds thing was taught by an entity calling himself Abraham. It taught it to this girl Esther so that's how humans know about this.
Personally, I don't believe this because it sounds like something someone with a good marketing or selling skills would come up with. I'm not defying that like attracts like and dislike attracts dislike; I'm just having a hard time believing into this 17+17 = 20 000 man hours etc. thing.
What do you think?

Define pure thought better. Why does this quality of thought quantify this way.
The math may be silly, but if it's what I think it is, then the idea isn't completely wrong.

Based on what I've read so far, I'd say pure thought is a thought that:
- isn't contradicted with an opposite energy thought (I want a boat BUT I don't have the money for it... so it's only I want a boat)
- isn't distracted in any way with some other thoughts (similar to Bardon's first practice... think of just one object and nothing else)
- has a strong emotional value, meaning you actually love that still-non-existent boat or idea of getting that boat

This sounds a lot like Vadim Zealand's Transurfing:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vadim_Zeland
Reality transurfing is an esoteric doctrine being published by Vadim Zeland since 2004. It suggests an idea of multivariant reality where events happen in an infinite number of spaces at the same time. The author describes this doctrine as a technique of moving from one "branch" of reality to another due to the concentration of energy of thoughts on a certain variant. As the author claims, the teaching's practical sense is the ability to choose freely a variant of reality at will by establishing conscious control over one's intentions and attitude to the world.

Okay. So they basically took something very simple and thoroughly over complicated it. Typical.
When you fully focus on a single thing, it is a lot more powerful, but not quite for these reasons. Imagine "mental energy" as something fluid, something like water. We also can say it is a finite energy, because if we think a lot we get tired (exam time, anyone?). Mental Fatigue. And so, most of the time, our thoughts are like little streams running through the forest - lots of water, or mental energy, just spread out over a wide area.
Now, if we begin to practice Mental Discipline, this is like building a dam. All of that energy that was being spent on a thousand different thoughts a minute begins to build in reserve, because we are no longer wasting it. The quantity of water, of energy, is the same - it is simply being used differently. You build a reservoir.
When you finally quiet the mind, and all of those little streams dry up so you have a full reservoir, then you can do something neat. You can focus on a single thing with a great deal of energy and power, because you have a big reserve and opening the dam to focus on a single thing becomes a very different experience. You experience real focus, instead of the constant battle for focus that most people without mental discipline experience.
And when you can focus the entire reservoir onto a single thought, then you have achieved Dhyana, and all the ridiculous math aside, that is a very potent thing indeed.

That's exactly where I am in thought right now, but I'm quicker than 17 seconds.
The spell seems kind of phased out and becomes more intense if I can keep it pure for upwards of 17 seconds.

I thought it said seventeen seconds for my dick to reach combustion point. Ha ha.
