Pre-Crowley Solar Adorations?

Everything I can find on this always seems to lead back to Aleister Crowley.
Is there absolutely any references dealing with solar adorations that came before Crowley wrote of the ritual in Liber Resh? Any variation I can find on them directly references Crowley in the writing.
I wrote my own, but I feel like they're sort of.. Lacking.
I don't really understand how Crowley comes to most of his conclusions, so really, I just refuse to use his work. It's just a mash up of the most random pieces of theory and practice. He has some good parts, for sure, but Liber Resh is not one of those parts.
Can anyone offer some assistance on this? It's obvious to assume that as far back as ancient Egypt, they were performing daily rituals to honor the sun. However, these modern takes (which are all variations on Liber Resh) are lacking even more so than my own rituals. I can't seem to find anything that deals in these types of practice.
I don't like being so insulting to a dead man, but the only thing Crowley ever did for anyone was to turn a few people into sheep-like followers. I've never seen anyone make it far following his line of thought.
