There are a couple of threads about what you think of other forum members or yourself, so I thought I'd start this.
My first use was to attempt to get some family members to stop fighting.
you?

Surprisingly close to yours... my dad lost his job and started taking it out on me, so I did a bind-to-wealth-and-banish spell. He got offered a position abroad that month, for a couple of months. I still can't make us like each other, and I didn't exactly make us rich (I'd probably have to get rid of his quack-doctor addiction for that) but I think it was just the break we needed. And while I don't think magic should only be used as a last resort, my spells were never so effective as when I was that desperate.

I first used magick to make myself go insane.
I failed. Sort of. So instead I decided to use magick to reach enlightenment, or something close to it.

I tried to learn telekineses. I am still trying to learn telekineses. I have no talent in it but I will not give up. I will learn!

First thing?... I think it was sort of an astral initiation, created an 'energy sword' and fought a demon in the night.
In retrospect, it was probably just fighting my subconscious mind, sending a demon at me representative of my worries of magic being evil, of entering a magick world, etc. and seeing if I had the will to go further. I did then, and I have.
I think, after that, the first solid thing I did... probably play with the wind, directing it and summoning it. It seemed much easier when I was younger, but there are still times where I seem to control the weather.

Have you tried evocation? There are spirits who can teach you (or so I've heard).

I have tried evocation. But not for telekinesis. Thank you for the information. I might try that. Do you know which Spirits it would be helpful to contact for this? And what their likes and dislikes and correspondences are?

According to Konstantinos' Summoning Spirits it's Mepsitahl (Neptune). She's covered on pg. 165 with her sigil on pg. 163.

I will have to look into that. The book is named Summoning Spirits by Konstantinos?

Personally i can do only the barest minimum of telekinesis, like slightly tilt a folded piece of paper or tinfoil back and forth. Of course i never really practiced telekinesis or put any effort into learning it or improving it. The reason for this is that i know people who have devoted years and years exclusively to practicing this and they can not move anything larger than a book and not any faster than VERY SLOWLY. I do not know anyone who can move anything bigger than that any faster than that. As such, telekinsis, in as much as it seems possible in this day and age, seems like a most useless skill to me, which is why i was never inclined to put any effort into it.
As for the topic itself, the first magical thing i ever REMEMBER doing was weather manipulation when i was around 4 years old, then came telepathy when i was 6 and so on.

I have tried a sort of device where one put a very light metal fan on top of a needle. I have managed to get that to move spinning one way or the other as I wish, but I do not know if that is real or if it is a draft or something like that. Other than that I have never had much success with it. Moving coins and needles about is useless yes, however I am interested in direct magick. Being able to affect something directly like that is a great boost in confidence as to ones own abilities.

Once when I was about 14 and still newish to the occult,I found out that extremely useful and effective invocations could be obtained by piecing together rhythmic mantras or chants from the names of deities associated with the force that you wished to influence. One lunchtime I went to the local beach with a friend who openly teased me about my interests in occultism and my inability to produce the goods so, getting well pissed off I said,"Right, come with me and I'll show you!" We marched along the rocky shoreline until we came to a concrete walkway about three and a half feet high with an overhanging lip that ran along its entire length. We walked about twenty feet or so along the walkway and stopped, looking out over the river and watching the approaching tide come in faster than a man can run.
We stood at the edge of the lip and, with him to my left,I called out:
" Perricumerus foedus cum morte et cum infernos fecimus pactum!"(or something similar and then a chant of: "Dambalawedo!-Dambalawedo!" six or seven times when a wave about six feet high crashed at the foot of the ovehang. The lip saved us from the worst of it and in fact, I walked away bone dry but my friend was soaked to the skin AND we still had to go back to school!
So I first used to it shut up somebody that annoyed me.Naughty, I admit but it was a very long time ago.

It was so long ago it's hard to remember the first time i actually used magick. When i was 11 or so i would draw up magick circles but it was more pretend like. The first actual magick i remember using and receiving positive results was when a friend and i cast a spell to make it rain.

Maybe this belongs more in the shared magic forum, but when I was starting out I used to practice influencing the movements of a pendulum. Its a good starting medium as it is less likely to be influenced by air movement, but is vulnerable to the near microscopic 'pulses' which run through our fingertips.Given enough time these pulses sort of harmonize and the pendulum moves.

Did you hold the pendulum or mount it? I do drowsing and the pendulum will move as I wish if I want it do. But I do believe that to be minute musculature movements movements which make the pendulum swing, that the actual answers come from Something I am in contact with but my body itself make the pendulum swing. Making a mounted pendulum swing however I think would be a nice exercise.

RE Hi Venefica, I'm sorry to have taken so long to answer your last post, but I've been a bit busy. Also, I wanted to think about it before replying so that I would have all the details in the right order.
The pendulum was held to begin with and later suspended from a tripod. Initial experiments with the pendulum being held were very successful and questions put to it usually answered correctly, even divinatory questions. The same pendulum was later suspended from the tripod in a draught free room with doors and windows securely shut. At first I tried making it move in a simple to and fro fashion but was unsuccessful. However, persistence is the key and after a few hours (spread out over several nights) the pendulum began to swing.Only in short bursts to begin with but after a couple of nights it began to move more and more.
The technique that I found worked was to imagine a pulling sensation in my forehead. This felt exactly the same as one would get when you hold two magnets close to each other. Eventually the sensation moved from being imagined to actually happening and the pendulum swung. Repeated experiments with this have rendered successful results in about 70-80% of cases. You have to keep practising though because like any other acquired skill it diminishes with lack of use.
I must admit though that I can see no practical application for it. Have you ever tried levitation?

As I recall, my first trial with magic was something I picked up out of a VooDoo book. Blood magic to get someone to fall in love with you. It didn't work. Probably because I didn't believe it would in the least, back then. I knew it wouldn't work. More than that, it seemed to backfire something fierce on me. There are still days when I regret it and wonder if I have any residual "anti-cupids" hanging around. But then I realize that unless you feel like you deserve blame...
Hell, there are days I still doubt. If anyone has some spare white energy to use on love, cast me a spell, say a prayer or just cross your fingers. Let me know and I'll remember you.
Peace (if that's what your looking for).
