Incantation and Language

Post by MadRik »

Out of complete curiosity, those of us that choose to practice a heavily ritualized magic might be far more in tune with the power of incantation and language.

That being said, when amidst your practices do you choose to speak your native tongue or have you found that older languages (hebrew or latin as example) to be more powerful?

This could of course be relative to what system you use, but I am certainly interested in the strengths of language and if it makes significant difference in anyone's experience.

Good question. You'll find some comments on the use of language in ritual here in this thread:

As for me, right now I'm working with some exoteric Tibetan prayers every day. Reciting the prayers in my native language, English, makes them more meaningful to me and helps with visualization.
