Goetic demons

Post by Tris3021 »

I have actually been surprised to learn that the goetic demons are actually egyptian/pagan gods! I'm relatively new in the area of ceremonial magick, mirror scrying, and many different methods of evocation and I've been doing quite alot of research to find out as much as I can before I get into actually doing rituals and summoning them.

It's really unfortunate that mainstream religion has painted the words "demon" and "evil" when it comes to them... I have never really believed demons were really "evil", I just think it really depends on the mindset of the practitioner. I think they're meant to be treated with respect as anything else and I think, them being egyptian/pagan gods, certainly wouldn't mind helping you out or teaching you stuff but I do think they can be strict in doing that if you need alot of work to improve yourself (haha "tough love").

I have always had the intent of working with mainly egyptian/greek gods from when I first started getting interested in this area, and now after finding out more about the goetic "demons", I actually would maybe like to work with them to make a new grimoire that respects and works for them, maybe I'll also add in warnings like you shouldn't summon them if you're in a highly emotional mood. I don't like how alot of grimoires have you summoning them and holding them against their will all in the "power of God", and honestly, for those kinds of grimoires, it's no wonder why they would get out of control or be really mad at you if you're doing that kind of thing to them.

Several demons described as Goetic are, yes, described based off previous descriptions in the Egyptian mythos. That's not to say that the Goetic demons are the only demons, accounted for or not. There are so many demons described around the world, and several species of demons exist just like there are different species of animals. Sometimes, powerful higher demons are described in different places all the same so it ends up that one individual demon is named differently from different perspectives..

The entire "holding them against God's word" thing is a matter of debate. They're mainly incantations-of-intent, but they're structured that way so Christian practitioners don't question the methodology. Yes, it's rude. It's a lot like holding someone from Canada at gunpoint saying "If you don't do my homework for me, Obama will arrest you".
