What is Linking?

I heard o' this a little while back, and I was wondering if it was even a thing.

Okay, so since there's the possibility that this is BS or just misworded here's what I know:

Basically I understand that, it is a form of, well, linking to a spiritual entity. A link is established during summonings when the person contacts the entity, or when the entity contacts the person.

Once a link is established, the entity sort of hangs around the human "host"?

For example; a succubus "links" to its human host, and draws energy from them like a leech.


Also if you don't mind, I'd like to know more, but it'd be a bit of a lengthy post now wouldn't it?
