Tarot cards and the 78 books of the bible.

Post by Desecrated »

Modern Lutheran bibles have 66 books in their bible (39 in the old testament and 27 in the new test).
The catholic church has 73 books.
And The Eastern Orthodox has 78 books (51 in the old testament and 27 in the new)

There has always been a suspicion with the tarot cards that they could have eastern origins.
Could the tarot cards have connection to the original 78 books of the bible? (each card represents one book)

So what do you guys and gals think- Coincident or something worth looking into?

I'm not an expert on the history of the Bible, but aren't there more books beyond those that the Eastern Orthodox Church accepts? Aren't there things like the book of Enoch, which is accepted in the Ethiopian canon. I thought the book of Enoch was really important for occultists because of, you know, Enochian magic.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church has 81 books. So does the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

"Note that the title The Book of Enoch attributed to the text of Liber Logaeth is not to be confused with the aprocryphal Biblical The Book of Enoch. (There are three versions of the latter; a facsimile reprint of the Ethiopian version is Laurence, (1995))[3] Nor should it be confused with Crowley's rescension Liber Chanokh (The Book of Enoch) although all these texts are related."

"Dee and Kelly never referred to their magic as 'Enochian' but rather called it 'Angelic'. However in modern occultism it is commonly known as Enochian."
