Some talk aboout Wands;

Personally, I've never been much of a wand guy. I've never really needed one, and I haven't performed very many spells that were written by other magicians.
Lately though, I've been gaining the desire for a new friend, in the form of a useful tool.

For a couple years now, I've been gathering the materials for a particular wand I wish to make. It's something similar to the wands Bardon writes about in his books, but it also takes inspiration from other sources.

I've also obtained certain materials for a second wand, which is actually being treated much more carefully. It's been wrapped in a black cloth almost its entire existence.

Really, I'm curious. I'd like to put these wands to good use, but I guess I don't really know how. I'm used to working directly with my own energy in a way that's unique to me.

My second wand was made to be an all-purpose type tool. I've been slowly enchanting it and filling it with vital energy so that even an untrained person will be able to do "something" with it. I, personally, haven't found much use for it.
I'd like to change that.

If anyone can offer any sources, books, or websites on wandcraft or their various uses and techniques, I would be highly appreciative.
If you have anything you can share to send me on my way to creating a beautiful and powerful tool, I'm willing to have a great discussion with you.


I know how to use a wand, don't get me wrong. It's just, the reasons I would *need* one would be as a prop, such as for evocation. Not any general casting.

I though about using my wand as a stirer when I'm empowering my food, but I really don't want to ruin the tip or stain it with my seasonings. It would be a nice touch, but I already have it oiled up how I like.


My first wand is what I've read called a "Vril power rod." (not my words). I haven't yet decided a purpose for it, as it isn't built.
The essential design is a copper tube, capped on one end, with a crystal embedded into the other end, and bound with something insulating, like leather. I've taken it a step further, however, and I've decided to add an insulated copper wire along the center of the tube, soldered to one end, wrapped around the crystal on the other, and surrounded by fiberglass to act as a fluid condenser.
The final effect of this device is yet to be determined, but it's worth figuring out. I'm still working on the design and construction though, so it'll be a while.

My second wand is a piece of wood from a particular plant that I'm fond of. It's more like a scepter, really, it that it's longer than my forearm. In what would be the base, there is a quartz crystal embedded into the wood, and sealed in with wax. The entire wand is sealed with wax to prevent any type of water or heat damage, to an extent. With how it's designed, you can carry it as either a wand, or a scepter, simply by flipping it around in your palm. It really is a beautiful piece of artifice.
I've become fond of carrying this one with me, as my trench coat can conceal it, now that it's finally Winter.


Seriously though, any ideas would be cool. Or, if you just felt like sharing your experiences with wandcraft, I'm more than happy to read your stories. There's so much out there on the subject, it's hard to find anything more.. Advanced, I guess?. So much dealing with wand usage is pointed towards those first beginning on the path.

The guy looks like a drug addict, but you mentioned conductivity, and I remember him saying something about it.

If it only channels energy, you can pretty much channel any kind of magic and use it for any kind of purpose.

If you use it for a specific elemental direction, then you only channel that kind of energy into. (like fire)
