Need help IDing spirit who attacked me in my dreams

Post by the_spiral »

Ok so this hasn't bothered me in several years but I've always been curious about what it could've been. I used to experience a recurring nightmare that I was awake in my bed but paralyzed. Out of the corner of my eye I could see a dark hulking shape come into the room. It was human shaped but had a different smell, like a wolf or a dog. It would sit on the bed, pull the sheet up over my face and either try to smother me or break the bones in my face with its hand. I could not move or defend myself in any way. I always woke up in pain, with a choking sensation and sometimes with its smell lingering in the room. It's hard to explain but it had the feeling of a spiritual attack. But scrying turned nothing up.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Any idea who/what it could be? My ideas were

- a local djinn (there were plenty around, but this felt colder)
- a living person nearby with (perhaps unconscious) negative feelings or intentions toward me, astrally projecting in their sleep
- a temporary passenger I picked up somewhere
- ?????

Could be any of them, there isn't really any way to tell. The only thing close to this I have experienced was I guess what most people call a shadow person. I woke up, very quickly and fully alert, (which is rare for me, i'm a nightmare to try and wake up), and it was standing over me looking at me. I thought it was my brother so I just said "what!" kind of loud. It inched closer about literally an inch and then didn't move. I immediately felt weird and threw the blankets up at it, and of course nothing was there.

The only thing close to this that I have heard of is the "old hag" stuff, actually sounds exactly the same except you have some bear type thing instead of a hag. I haven't looked much into it but maybe they just settled on a hag because that was most common, but I can't imagine EVERYONE experienced it as an old hag. Just some thoughts, sounds scary! Sorry!

Yeah, a hypnopompic hallucination was one of my top possibilities too. But I ruled it out for several reasons that all pointed toward entity visitation. I often had an attack shortly after interacting with an aggressive and negative person at work, so I came to vaguely associate them with that person. They did stop shortly after I left the job. And shadow people creep me out, actually the thought of being watched in my sleep creeps me out in general. I would've thrown a shoe at it!

Thats a really interesting story - I have definitely felt physical effects of unstable people but never a phantom or visitation like that. I hope you solve the problem. Also I do not think that old hag is always hypnotic or only mental, I;m with you on entity visitation. The shadow person really creeped me out, i threw the entire blanket straight up and then of course turned the lights on. It was a very weird experience i will never forget

Yeah I stay away from those things. I don't think they're "bad" per se but their energy really doesn't mesh too good with ours, does it?

It sounds like dream paralysis.

Motumbá Àse!

That's what I thought when I'd read it. Psychic attack, maybe through the work with an entity, though it can be done without the help of entities (that "appereance" or making it look like an entity attack). I go for entity.

You need to learn to cast without talking or waving hands. Also would be good to have a "psychic security system" with "alarms", guardian "dogs", etc. "Hiring" spirits to guard you while your sleeping, at least that way it'll be harder to reach to you with bad intentions.

I hope you don't get disturbed anytime soon

It could be a spirit or an astral spirit like you said.
Witching hour is a term in occult belief that refers to the time at which creatures such as witches, demons, and ghosts are thought to appear and to be at their most powerful, and at which black magic is thought to be at its most effective because the period from 3AM to 4 AM is the span where there are no Catholic church services and prayers which are marked by the Canonical hours which are also three regular hours in length, but in modern times that fact is mostly forgotten so the terms is usually used to refer to midnight and 2 AM recognized as the witching hour by some neopagans.

Adversely, the terms Devil's hour applies to the hour of 3 AM or 3:15, the suggestion being that this is an inversion of the time at which Christ died at Calvary.

The terms may be used to refer to any arbitrary time of bad luck, or in which something bad has a greater likelihood to occur (e.g., a baby crying, a computer crashing, stock market volatility, crimes, etc.).

In medieval times, midnight was when it was believed that witches emerged to practice the occult. Women caught out late at night could have been suspected of witchcraft if they did not have a legitimate reason to be out.
Or it can be a witch who is astral projecting.

In my exp, spirits that I have seen take on the form of a shadow or dark orb, and as for the light beings - they look just like a shadow except with light instead of darkness and they also can appear as an orb.

...

Here's a fraction of what I know about witches - (I am too lazy to write the rest which is equivalent to a small book):

Firstly the reason why witches usually use a full moon for their spells is because the moon has an effect on the water in our brain.
|
I have heard that water can hold memory.

Secondly the reason why witches are said to be flying around 3:00 A.M. is because the moment the sun is out of sight - they purposely induce a state of mind that allows them to astral project and plant ideas and or suggestions into the minds of others.

*

I remember one time that I wanted to see what the astral realm looked like, so I decided to stay up for one week and then smoke some weed to help make me more tired so that I'd plunge into the dream world while awake, and it was a trip.
|
Everything looked the same, the only difference was that it all appeared more lucid and dreamy and a bit dark, I could see loads of shadow people of all sizes moving around like it was a concert filled with people, and their was so much speaking that I couldn't make out anything that I had heard - as if it were a hundred people speaking at the same time about different things.

A while back I got to see a "female shaped" shadow in the room where my mom died in, and this thing moved in a very terrifying way.
|
I seen this while I was approaching my house, I saw a female shadow holding the blinds back - peaking out of the window from the room my mother died in - and when I noticed it looking at me... Immediately it moved out of sight leaving only the blinds moving as if something were just standing there and moved out of the way.

I don't deny that there are also beings of light because I have seen one only once my entire life, it looks just like the shadow of a person except that it is all light - in three dimensional form - not (2.D.).

Also...
I had a lucid dream one night where this shadow orb was trying to paralyze me with fear but it couldn't because I did this thing where I flexed an energy of resistance throughout my body and broke loose from its vampiric grasp. Wherever it went the lights would fail, and all I had to do was resist this shadow - (which I did twice) - and it left me alone.

If you're undergoing what seems to be a form of paralysis from a spirit, all you have to do is resist.

You can do what I did, flex an energy throughout your body for as long as you need in order to move again.

Here is the energy that I used to flex throughout my body to combat all forms of paralysis that I have encountered:

1.) Close your eyes and visualize a finger pointing at the back of your neck and feel its presence as though it is half a centimeter away from touching you.
2.) Pay attention to how your neck feels, notice any ticklish glow or strange sensation.
3.) If you feel the phantom sensation, hold onto it for as long as you can until it disappears.
4.) Try to invoke that feeling without visualizing a finger pointing at the back of your neck.
5.) If you successfully manifest that feeling, try bringing it down your spine slowly and then hold that feeling at the base of your spine, then bring it back up.
6.) Next try to invoke that feeling into your arms and legs, stomach and head.
7.) If successful, then you're ready to fight spirits that try to hold you down through fear via paralysis.

Trust me it works, just follow this small tutorial - and you'll be fine.

I use this method to fight off sleep paralysis instead of trying to wiggle my fingers or toes or lips and it works.

Like I said it works even in your dreams and even when you're having an out of body experience.

I don't know why it works but it does, I guess because it induces a physiological response by increasing the heart rate and blood flow.

This isn't the only way, so don't worry, I'm sure someone else will also share something that works. ~

B.T.W. - After you wake up and are still a bit frightened, watch some comedy or anything that will help you feel better. Purify your room with sage or w/e - keep a light on, eat some candy or your favorite food. Place a spirit trap on your ceiling or on the floor - Pray over it to give it the intention of sending spirits back from where they came. Then get intoxicated only if you're a drinker or smoker and enjoy yourself - which I don't recommend if you're against drug usage.

I really hope you realize the power you have over spirits.

It took me a while for me to realize such.

Smile for us and banish any fear you have. ~

Hey,

Projecting blue pentagrams seems to work.

My personal experience leads me to believe that it is some kind of test. Fear is the gate.

I hope this gives you encouragement.
