Confessions

Oh my I remember this thread. Anyway: From Twilight of the Idols: 10. Not to perpetrate cowardice against one's own acts! Not to leave them in the lurch afterward! The bite of conscience is indecent. From Liber Al vel Legis: 46. Dost thou fail? Art thou sorry? Is fear in thine heart? 47. Where I am ...

Are there good demons?

Perhaps it would be wise rather than to discuss whatever or not some creatures have the quality good or the quality evil, to discuss what those qualities are. So I am asking the original poster, and really any on the forum, what are good? And what are evil? And how do you know if a creature have th...

Giordano Bruno

Despite the fact that I had a dream in which I was walking through a library and picked up a book called Pico I prefer Bruno because he doesn't draw so much from Hebrew sources and completely embraces Hermetism above Christianity. Actually being as it was a dream that might have been Picatrix I saw,...

The Origins of Baphomet.

Oops just read the post and it's in there.

Funny you should relate him to Ganesha, I once saw a picture of each side by side and was struck by the similarity of the pose in that particular depiction. Of course I thought nothing of it.

The Origins of Baphomet.

I've heard the Baphomet as Corruption of Mahomet thing before. Also interesting to me is the phonetic similarity between Baphomet and Behemoth.

Giordano Bruno

Anyone familiar with him? I've been reading about him recently but I haven't been able to get hold of any of his actual work. Just now found an english translation of The Heroic Frenzies in the Twilight Grotto (Last time I went there it was for Agrippa and Dee) but everything else there is in Latin....

Are there good demons?

I think it may already have been mentioned but demon is a neutral term originally meaning a wise spirit. Cacodemon being the term used to refer to malevolent entities, and I forget its correpsonding term. Although within the prevailing Christian paradigm and thus the major method for supernatural in...

Hello

I was a member of the old OF. You know, back before it was an archive. This is a new tag though because I'm mysterious. I wonder if I can get hooked again. How active is it here?

My interests are fairly broad. 'Theurgy' is a pretty good tag though.
