I've started to steer clear of Edred Thorsson/Stephen Flowers after he developed that "guru" mentality

Growing up in the North doesn't make you cynical, but it might make you realistic, sarcastic, straight forward and down-to-earth.

Re: who summonsed the Jinn?
I don't want you to take this the wrong way, but if you're an empath, shouldn't you be able to tell who has negative feelings towards you? If I'm not comepletely mistaken, a Djinn is a pretty strong spirit which wouldn't be easily summoned and which I suspect would take more han a candle to destroy.

Re: Smudging???
Most others use other words than exorcism for what they do. That's where I got that from.

Re: Smudging???
The ones who were, were the ones who recommended xaarea to be exorcised. Not you. Sometimes things come without calling, other times because we subconsciously call them. No occult experience needed.

Re: Smudging???
Exorcism is something a catholic priest does, and it takes them years to et qualified. What xaarea said was something people have recommended to her, because she's not all "love-dovey-light-and-fluffy.

I'm moving towards that, and it's driving him nuts
For him it' s a sport to get me angry, and when it doesn't work, he amps it up or gets really pissed off. I'm doing my best to let it run off me like water off a goose, but it's not always easy.

Get help from someone who knows a lot about such things, and who has worked on similar things before. Not really something to step into unprepared. Maybe xaarea might be able to lend a hand, or at least give some advice.

Re: Smudging???
Anything and everything negative, No. Negative energies maybe. but if it's people or spirits, I wouldn't count on smudging as the only solution.

An overview of Seiðr, as I see it
I created a Prezi presentation as an introduction to Seiðr for those who are unfamiliar with it, and I thought those of you who know what it's all about might like to see it as well. These are my opinions based on the Scandinavian books and research reports I've read on the subject. Sorry for the li...

Re: Spae
The concept on Spæ is almost exclusively used in the US. I haven't found that many elsewhere who choose to divide seiðr into categories.
From what I've read, it's the foreseeing part of seiðr, and often over-focused on the used of the seiðhjallr.

Re: What is a Fetch?
Do you mean the fylgja or the vard? The fylgja is a reflection of you in animal form, but it can also be a female spirit following the blooodline. But that's simplifying it
The vard is more like the modern day guide or power animal.

Re: Seid,Spae ,Galdr and other such inklings...
I work with seiðr too, but I don't divide it into categories like some might do. I'm also researching galðr (the verses in Galðralag, not the modern intonation of runes). I can't say I'm reconstructionist, because I do experiment. But I do have some limits on what I call seiðr and galðr.

Re: What would you do?
Narcissistic sounds a lot closer than Borderline. But I suspect he's just an egotistical asshole, since he's able to express sympathy for other people, he doesn't exaggerate his achievements or talents, and he doesn't just think about himself all the time. He's ok to be around most of the time, and ...
