I am a beginner animist and I was wondering if your suppose to ask the spirit of certain natural object, like a plant or stone if you can take them home with you or to use them in a spell and ritual before doing so. If so how what are simple ways to ask that spirit?

How long does it take for an amulet or talisman to work?

Is it okay just to say a chant or prayer once when doing a cleansing or performing a spell to state your intent? I know that thoughts are energy when spoken, so I have heard.

What are some different ways to raise energy for a spell?

I know that spells are done mostly from raising energy and visualization, but is it necessary to them without doing so? Like can I just get a candle, light it, state my intention, and then blow it out? I would think you would need to repeat this process every day, but would the spell still be strong...
