I have always been an intuitive person with a strong affinity with animals of all kinds, and a small healing ability that I have explored and honed over the last 2 years.

I recently encountered someone who referred to himself as a shaman, and after a lot of time spent in meditation and conversation with him, he declared that I was a natural shaman myself.

He told me that my totem animal is a crow or a raven, which is amusing since quite often when I am walking, I will have crows flying close by me, or landing in trees above me, or walking up to me, regarding me for a few moments with their ice blue eyes, before flapping away.

He gave me a book to read, Urban Shaman, by Serge Kahili King. I read it through in 2 sittings, and found that a lot of what he was talking about were things that i did naturally and instinctively. A few things, like grokking, I was able to put to good effect after a few experiments; for example, for 3 days in a row, I managed to get the rain to stop for the 15 mins or so it took me to ride my motorcycle to work. It then resumed raining after I walked into my building.

But now, I have no further source of information on the topic. Shamanism feels right for me, I think, since a lot of it just comes naturally. But the shaman who introduced me to this is no longer around, having moved to the U.S, and I have no other reliable source to turn to.

Can anyone suggest anything I can do, anywhere I can look, anyone I can speak to to keep walking this path I seem to be on?
