I am not new to this subject at all, but I was wondering what books you lot use for the magickal uses of herbs, their correspondences and properties.

I have a few good books on the subject, but I was wondering if there were anyreally great ones that I might have missed out on.

Recomendations are most welcome :)

I like Scott Cunningham's books on magickal used for herbs. I like the author in general and think his books are excellent.

Instead of Cunningham (in which I started with), I recommend Paul Beyerl's books. The Magic Book of Herbalism is good as is his Compendium of Herbal Magick. He's not quite as "fluffy" as Cunningham. For historical interests, and if you can find it, I also recommend Paul Huson's Mastering Herbalism.

I find that Cunningham is good for pepole like me that do not go very deep, as of yet at least, with herb magick but use it now and again, but Bayerl's books works better if you want to take it further.

Some people may not find it useful if they want to go further. Although some people do like it as well. Its really up to you and what you want from it..

Regarding Cunningham, I like these:

As for the herbs... I say get a feel for the herbs themselves. Next to that, I also recommend Agrippa. There's several related chapters in the first book. Better to learn how to learn what they're good for and what they'd correspond to, than to simply reference a table, I think.

I think it depend on what you are planning on using the herbs for. if you are going to eat them then you need to know them well, if you are making them your path then yes then you need to dig deep into their lore, but if they are just a lesser tool for you then a reference table is quite ok and enough.

I just got Herbs: Medicinal, Magical, Marvelous! by Deborah J. Martin. It has scientific name, medicinal uses and magical correspondence. It's very easy to use and I make as many home remedies as I can. She is a Master Herbalist and witch. She also talks about the difference between tinctures, potions and such.
The pendulum of the mind alternates between sense and nonsense, not between right and wrong.
