throw him the pact???
why not just shoot it at him with a wrist rocket???
you could wrap it in a condom and...oh well...
...somehow all the possible credibility of this mumbo jumbo totally broke down with that last little digression into ridiculousness...
please don't bother explaining the "principle" of crossing the circle et al...if you haven't the natural class to hand the pact over with a little dignity, you probably shouldn't be attempting to craft magickal/satanic rituals...

If you threaten any of the dark gods with words of the judeo-christian god, you will learn greatly from your mistake! The pact you posted is not Satanic! If an individual truly wants to dedicate their soul to the Prince of Darkness, then he or she would not be scared of the dark gods and he or she will not use this old judeo-christian bullshit.

Dedication to the dark gods must be wholeheartedly sincere. One cannot have fear!
the local boozer in our town is said to have tried a pact with the trickster god but when the god appeared he fell down and screamed. He did it when he was 19 and has been drinking ever since. I tried asking him about it and he looked at me with saddness and started bawling. I bought him some JD and left him to his guzzling.

Aw man. I missed all the fun stuff...he was apparently so embarrassed that he deleted it!
Sounds like it was pretty damn funny from everybody's response.
Speaking of pacts and circles and all this stuff, I like the idea that one will never truly learn how to swim unless they jump in and actually get wet.
If you're going to make some sort of "pact" with Satan, or any deity at that, it should be out of reverence and honor. Followers of the Left-hand Path are not "God-fearing" people. They simply know better.

I'm annoyed that I missed the post too, I could have done with a laugh.
I remember my pact that I made with the Big Guy, it was quite simple. I went to my shed, lit a candle, made up an on the spot evocation, told him that all I want from life is to have a great ride, no millions of pounds or thousands of women wanting me, just simple things. Then I ate an apple, just like Eve did and excepted tempation into my life and banishing all the christian beliefs that had ruled over my life in the past. I went to bed and continued with my life.
I am very happy.

Would you not have a contract with a car salesman? A loan officer? Repairman? Etc....
Pacts are binding legal documents similar to contracts. though with most pacts the ability to make the spirit do what you want requires trust and the ability to fight if the spirit tries to work you over.
It also clarifies to the spirit what you want and what you are willing to give.

Alarum, that pact sounded pretty cool, with the apple and what not, lol, sounds like something I would do.
All I did was declare my loyalty and my dislike for Jehova, lol not to creative, although I had a upside down pentagram outlined with white/black candles and had a candle outside the pentagram, and after the dedication I moved that candle into the pentagram, symbolizing where the candle (my) allegiances stood.

I myself really didn't even have a pact, just a little dedication. One night I lit a candle, stood before it, and announced to the Prince of Darkness that I invite him into my life. I also declared that I dedicate myself to the Left Hand Path.
No, it used to mean that the spirit/deity does something for you and then you have to repay them somehow. Now a days, the pact is just a dedication.

I still don't really get why you need a pact. Why don't spirits, devils, demons, detieys etc "know" that you are intentions are "right". Every one can eat an apple but it's about the intension isn't it.

"Pacts with the Devil" by Christopher Hyatt and S. Jason Black, gives a very interesting interpretation of this kind of work. Akin to a freeing of Kundalini energy. And is also a fascinating read

Well, this comes down to two questions: A) external vs internal and B) communication ability. Regardless part of the point of evocation is that even if the entity is "internal" and the encounter "mental" you are still interacting with it as an externalized force. Therefore it would have its own desires and tendancies, which may run contrary to your intentions. Therefore they would have to be directed. Even if there is congruency between the two of you, you may have to provide a course of action for this entity. Communication ability can vary with personal makeup, some may simply issue a mental command along a general line of feeling, had have the results surgically exact. Others may need an actual written legal agreement, signed in blood.

And what if you're wrong? What if you "pay" later?
I think I understand why people stripped that part down to just dedication; they didn't want to admit they might (or will - I don't know!) pay.
It's simple Karma, I think.
Yep.
To me, the Devil is an archetype I've gotten bored of in its more superficial forms. Ooh, he's all Evil and all that, but I find the road that led me from the Devil to Pan to Paganism and other deities has been the Right one for me. But "Satan" as most understand him (and not all professed Satanists do) is to me largely an adolescent, younger version of a God.
Why else do you think so many teenagers say they Love him? It's to piss off their Christian parents for some, yes, but violent/sexual imagery is historically and through all religions something adolescents (in age and/or in Spirit - people who never "grow up") always a big draw. The Dark Side sells because its being repressed.
Someone asked if Wicca was "the gateway religion."
So, perhaps the Devil is the first person to get you "high."
It works for me.

There is much more to Lucifer/Satan than the 'evil'. For one, I don't even consider what he stands for as evil, the definition of evil is one that has been twisted by the Christians over the past two millennia. To me Satan is about pride, self respect, ambition, carnal forces and the most fundamental basic forces/drives in humanity. I donâ??t see those attributes as evil I see them as good. Chastity, servitude, fear, ignorance, conformity etc etc are evil.
And usually Satanist/Settians/Luciferians find the idea of karma repulsive and just as evil as the above mentioned attributes. To believe in karma is to believe in a fate or Godform that 'gets you back', which is very unSatanic (However, I'm not saying all Satanists believe in this, we are a varied bunch
).
Satanist forge their own fate.

That's what I'm saying.
So Paganism and many other Ways say. Are they then "satanic?"
How much does one need to prefer (a version of a) "Satan" over a (a version of a) "Pan" view for there to be a difference?
Nothing is Evil "in itself." For the chaste, servile, fearful, ignorant and conformist, that is there "service." That's all most have to give, or choose to. Any quality has its own unique value in SpaceTime to every other Point. Or, "The slaves shall serve," or also, "Don't underestimate the ignorance of your fellow man to aid you," which is very Satanic a thing to admit. And on that point I agree.
Well, maybe that's their Karma to tell themselves.
How does fate play into Karma? Karma takes Free Will and Choice back into things. You "Fate" is what is yours if you don't take action, now. So I would say.
I think Karma is a natural Law, not a Dictator.
All I can say is I've seen its effects in my own and other people, but not until I even tried to look for it. You can't chnage what you don't acknowledge, as Dr. Phil (heh heh) always says. That's Karma to me.
And backs up my feeling for me that "traditional" so-called "Satanism" (hey, even they can't agree on a definition!) tends-to me to be the Door, not the House.

Original post: ChaosTech
You should be. No excess, just simple rebirth without the fear, worry, guilt, in essence shit the dogma of Christianity you felt put on you. The serpent is very wise. That apple is wisdom, sophia, the pentagram, gnosis. What more could a man/woman want than wisdom, control (balance, no nasty excesses that become one's master), and just to live? Truely live.
You are a very wise man Alarium, even before you ate that ritual apple.
I salute you good sir. I've never been much for Satanism, as a religion, or better put path (way, Tao), as to be honest most of the people I know who are Satanists are idiots, for lack of a better word. But Hail Satan indeed!
Are any other Satanists here as wise and happy as this man? If so, I salute you as well. If not, I wish you the best of luck.
Speaking of luck, one crazy Christian Ex-girlfriend of mine once told me, the word luck comes from the word Lucifer? I haven't bothered to research this, so if any of you know, do tell.)
Lucifer the light bringer. Satan the adversity. But Adversity to what exactly? The demi-urgal excesses of Judeo-Christian-Islamic ignorant and destructive dogma (nasty elements of the faiths)? This sounds like the case for many of you, Satan should be a hero in Judeo-Christian-Islamic mythology, not a villian.
Why do so many of the good guys get shitted on. First Prometheus, now Satan? I'm sad.
Whatever the original post was. I've never understood pacts, oaths, vows, swears, promises, etc. I've never been one to say agree to such things, as they always seemed limiting to me, as I hate feeling bound to anything. Must be the trickster (Chaos) in me or something?
I'm annoyed that I missed the post too, I could have done with a laugh.

Thank you very much ChaosTech, your compliments are appreciated;-) The way I see things is, that you can make millions of pounds and sleep with a thousand women, but in the end the only thing that matters is that you are happy and have had a good ride through life. When I say happy I mean Truly happy, not a facade such as when a person puts on a brave face when deep inside they feel negative or when they act hyper and happy just because in reality they are depressed. I have not reached this pure happiness yet, but it is my life goal. In a way I like Buddhist philosophy because if one is in control of their own mind and has clarity of vision and wisdom then it matters not if you live in a forty bedroom mansion or a dirt hole. A man with clarity of vision would also make for the wisest of worriers. If you can say, "I am happy with what I've got" then in a way you are to be envied. However, I do have a strong drive for ambition so I'm not likely to end up in a monastery in Tibet!
As I use some of the 'laws' from the Satanic Bible in my magic I always work with nature, not against it. So if I want something I have to make sure that I can just give nature that little extra push without forcing anything. Which is the main reason my deal with Satan was just for the simple things, I'll make my own fortune separate from Satan.
What makes me somewhat different from the stereotypical Satanist is that I donâ??t go about blabbing my ego about, I find that I am more the quite confident type. I also find that this technique works better when maintaining friendships and making new ones, and most importantly, first impressions.
I admit I have an ego and when it gets hurt I am quite vicious, but I don't impose it on others.
Sometimes I read about other Satanists that make grand proclamations to Satan demanding wealth, beauty and fame. The people doing this are usually nobodies that think the world will fall before them and give them everything they desire. Then they sit down and do nothing about it! I do the reverse, I do my best to set my future in motion and work hard and ask for the small things.

Making a Pact With the Devil

I have a registered IQ of 185 ChaosTech so I am finding these broad-sweeping generalizations of Satanists just a bit hard to swallow. I also do not believe that life is all about "happiness". I am inclined to view it more as a matter of success which can be difficult to achieve and may not always fall within the conventional confines of so-called happiness per se. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. The strong keep on trucking either way...

That's "Adversary", actually...not "adversity"...and yes, many of us idiot Satanists have good reason to suppose that this is aimed more at preconceived notions of god than man...Lucifer the light bringer. Satan the adversity. But Adversity to what exactly?

um, m1thr0s, maybe I read ChaosTech wrong, but I was sure he was referring to 'Satanists' who submit their will and worhsip him as an idol. I could be wrong, but that's what I assumed anyway.
