Hello,

so I think that the chat link turned out to be a bit of a non-starter. I personally never seem to find enough time in my daily life to participate properly in a chat room, although I do enjoy it from time to time.

The channel I'd set up for this site on DALnet was pretty much unused, but I still think the chat page should be used for something. I was thinking we could perhaps maintain a directory of occult IRC channels? There could be a suggestions box for channels to add, and I'm not sure, it might be worth checking with the channel ops whether they allow their channel to be listed in there? It could pop open a new window with the Mibbit AJAX IRC client to each channel in the directory.

Your input, as always, is appreciated.

It was previously dalnet #OccultForum, but I suspect it's de-registered now

There's been some talk of moving it to the irc.Blitzed.org, I'm led to believe that there are more folk from our sort of circles on there. What do you think?

I run several chats on Dalnet. mainly, #occult_practice #esoteric and #tarot plus a few others. dalnet seems to be a more stable server, and more populated, too. I dont know much about the previous chat, ive only visited it a few times over the years. it always seemed empty.. :-)

and yes #occultforum on dalnet is de-regged. someone might snatch it up if you dont!
while there are some folks in #occultforums on blitzed

There's #domus on blitzed. That's usually a fairly lively channel.

Ok, who should I speak to in #Domus about whether or not it's ok to add the channel to our list?

Also, I've written a basic component for building the chat room list. Basically, the list is stored in a database and built alphabetically each time the page is loaded. The mibbit chat widget links it generates also try to set your nickname to your username on the site, I thought that would be a nice touch ^_^

It also allows us to attach a brief description to each chat room, so I thought I'd best ask whaat you'd like the descriptions for these channels to be?

If we build an extensive collection, I'll look into metatagging the list also, but at present we have 4 possibly 5 channels to list, so finding what you're looking for is less of an issue.
