Does anyone have any experience with this book and it's associated magical system/paradigm? I did a search and didn't find any pertinent threads. Note, I am NOT talking about Donald Tyson's Necronomicon. No, I am in fact referring to a (relatively?) new book of Tyson's, called The Necronomicon Grimoire. In it, he (among other things) elaborates on the system introduced in his version of the dread tome. He weaves together a coherent and completely workable system of magic centered around the Great Old Ones. So, once again, has anyone worked with, or even read, this new book of Tyson's?

Tyson's Necronomicon Grimoire

I really used to like Tyson's stuff. But now I am starting to group him with many of the other "occult writers" as boring, rehashed BS. I have not read his Necronomicon Grimoire but I assume it is based on his fiction related to Alhazarad. Since he most likely "invented" his magical system you would be just as well off to invent your own system. This would be a far more powerful alternative. I will try to find a copy of his new book in the used book store.

People online always say stuff like this. I'm not sure where this idea comes from. The simple fact of a published manuscript often goes further to legitimize a belief.

I'm not sure it has much to do with whether or not a belief is legit, rather than simply the belief that something you create, more personal to you, will work better for you.
Or that's how I always heard it, anyhow, and has been my experience as well.

I have all 4 of his Necronomicon works, 3 books and his tarot cards...grimoire is good reading, but the egregore isnt strong enough (yet)
