So in my readings of the various blogs devoted to Weird Shit(tm), the BEK seem to be one of the predominant memes doing the rounds at the moment, and for the last 12 years now.

The above link contains a retelling of the story that started it all. An account by a guy named Brian Bethel, from 1998, who got held up by a trio of juvenile demoniacs who claimed to want a lift back to their place. Their story was that they'd forgotten money for cinema tickets, and they wanted a lift in his car, back to their house to get it.

Subsequent stories follow a similar structure, but more commonly involve the Kids wanting to come into someone's house. It is always very strongly implied that they can't come in unless specifically given consent or invited. No stories have apparently surfaced, where the Kids have actually been let in, either; it is implied that anyone who has done so, has come to a messy but otherwise unspecified end. It is also vaguely implied that these entities feed on people in some way.

It's true that in some ways, the structure of these accounts resembles the MIB (Men In Black) phenomenon from some decades earlier. I've also developed something of an unhealthy, somewhat horrified fascination for BEK stories; at times I've tried to hunt down as many of them as I can find.

The thing I'm trying to figure out though is, what are these things? The usual atheistic interpretations have been offered; normal kids on shrooms, or Goths with black contact lenses playing pranks. That might account for some of them, perhaps, but all of them?

The predominant paranormal theories are either a) demons who've somehow managed to find a way to become physically/corporeally incarnate, or b) Grey/human hybrids who've managed to break out of the lab.

Does anyone here know anything about them?

My theory:

I'm thinking spirits- invading spirits, so might as well be aliens, but spirits. These things appear to only a few people at a time and wish to be 'let in'- they can't come in otherwise. It's almost certainly metaphorical as if they were purely corporeal they would just be there, right? They've appeared in dreams as well as in life, and in one case disappear when the encounter ended. It's as if they are trying to get through the metaphorical barrier, into this world rather than into a car.

Looking at them as walking bits of symbolism, they are children, but they are hollow monsters, evil. If they are metaphorical reinterpretations of pre-existing phenomenon (modern alien similar to some ancient spirits and entities), these could be 'vampires' or just plain old demons. The child angle I find interesting- are the demons breeding?

The sight of all black eyes always give me a start, such an appearance is often used for monsters in horror or science fiction, it is something primal about it, like the eyes of the grays. There are some who think grays are the demons and fay and monsters pepole believed in of old, but who have now taken a new form which is more easy to accept in our modern time, demons from the pit and monsters living in the forest are hard for the modern mind to accept, but aliens come from outer space to experiment on us that is perhaps more probable.

I am thinking some sort of vampire or fay when I am hearing this. I do not know what they are, but they match both vampire and some fay lore. What I am wondering is if there exist anything like pictures or multiple witness accounts of this phenomena.

I have read the posts and maybe able to shed some light on these children. These children are souless which is why they have black eyes. They are agents of the underworld and appear as they do to trap unwary people.
The reason they can't enter your property without permission is because of the law of the covenant of old. The covenant only allows them to enter if you give them permission. They play on ones ignorance and lack of awareness. Once they have you in their grasp you become victim to their folly. They are not vampires but more closely akin to demonacs.

Satan was also known to appear to people as a small boy dressed in blue of about 10 years of age, not his real form, but one people would accept that was not threatening.

There is also another lot of children being born today called Pale-eyes. These are children who have their third eye closed, such being seen as pale, or blind. You know them by the fact they create trouble and refuse to learn from their errors. They are intent on breaking the law and causing mayhem and stress for their parents and teachers. Pale-eyes are in some ways worse than these black-eyed children as they cannot be reasoned with. Their sole purpose for incarnating on earth is to creat trouble and in so doing generate a bigger foood supply from the human population to feed the gods. Pale-eyes started incarnating at the direction of the Elohim ( Elder gods ) in the early1960's, and many have now grown up and infiltrated Government areas and many other social places in society where they now have power to change the rules and laws to increase humanities problems further.

It's not uncommon now for many to be married to a partner who is effectively a pale-eye in human form. Such later divorce and the pale-eye screws the other partner over in the laws courts. Drinking, smoking, drug abuse and a gross lack of respect for life and humanity is a part of a pale-eye's behaviour, as is the pushing for lack of discipline on todays children.
But so there is no misunderstanding - not all people who do these things are pale-eyes.

How interesting...

Has anyone ever delved into the lives of those these children seek out? There might be more to their reasoning than people think, and their reluctance to enter the home uninvited could potentially be little more than a game... We all like games, afterall.
