Have any of you had any experiences with ghosts and Spirit or have a family ghost story to tell that you might with to share with the forum? Here is one from me.

My Great Grandmother

My great grandmother lived in the second floor of the house where my mother grew up. Mother was always very connected to her grandmother. When my great grandmother died for years they heard something fall down and roll across the floor upstairs, when they went up to investigate, they never found anything on the floor, and soon the sound would come again. But after a while the strange sounds vanished. My mother told me that. I always felt a presence as a little girl in the second floor of my grandparents house. It might be that I was influenced by my mother's story but I liked to think it was my great grandmother watching over the family. Later my mother got into contact with her Spiritual helpers, and she is rather sure that one of them is my great grandmother, so perhaps the old woman is still watching over her grand daughter and perhaps me to. I hope so, for she died many years before I was born, but we where born on the same date and I would have loved to have met her. But perhaps I have met her Spirit.

There is another part of this story. When my mother was pregnant with me, the date she was due was the 29 of February. My grandmother however insisted that she would give birth to a little girl on the 23 of February, the birth day of my great grandmother, and her word was true. Perhaps Great Grandmother Alvilde had a hand in me being born on her birth day. Big Grin

I once saw a white hand hovering in my bathroom.
I was quite young back then,something like 10 years old I think.
I saw the hand for some seconds,then it disappeared.
It scared the hell out of me,and in the many following years I was afraid to be in the the bathroom,at least in the evening and night.
But the hand never appeared again.
What a sneaky little ghost that was.
A big scare for no reason at all.

I distinctly remember my time in the Pride Hotel, Yorkshire, where we appeared to have 3 ghosts. Only 1 left physical signs, she was, at the same time, the most loveable and the most annoying. She was a young girl, drowned when the place was a mill, and to get our attention (as kids do), she'd flood the cellar to about 6 inches over about 250 sq. ft, no matter the weather, and would then drain it to the point where the concrete was bone dry, 5 minutes after we noticed, with or without the pumps. It happened at a time when I was doubting my wisdom in going into paranormal/occult research, and helped set me back on the path, as it were.

I visited my friends house one evening, spotting what I had assumed was his mother working at the kitchen counter through the window. I got in, chatted for a while, then mentioned his mother being home- only she had been gone all weekend. Their faces expressions all changed as they told me they had spotted something upstairs walking past, vaguely tall white and female- freaked them out to see it wasn't just them spotting some entity moving about the house.

Hm,do you think ghosts are "real",or are they just creations of our own minds?
Almost in all ghost stories,the behaviour of the ghosts is totally irrational and without any purpose.
But still they sometimes seem to react when people interact with them.
And if they are "real",then what are they,and what is their business with us?

This happened in my country house. Once during a storm a ball lightning came in through the window zipped around the house and left through the open front door. 7 people witnessed the event.

Personally i didnt even know that ball lightning counted as a paranormal phenomenon, i thought it was just a rare natural event, but apparently i was wrong and it's considered paranormal so... that's my story.

Not many months ago my hubby and I where enjoying or evening when suddenly we hear a load crash. Several spice boxes had fallen of a shelf in the kitchen. Now the boxes are rather heavy and the shelf is straight and the cat do not get up to that shelf. The boxes also stood firmly onto the shelf and not on the edge of it. I tested by pushing a box and I had to really push it to get it to fall off, a stay wind could not have done it.

A Few days ago there came this load bang. When we checked what had happened these two inch thick wood planks that my hubby are building a desk from which we had leaned up against a wall inside to protect them from the weather, one of them had fallen. No windows or doors where open, the cat is not strong enough to trip one of those as they are rather heavy.

Some time ago I found my cat acting very strange like if she was seeing an animal in one of the corners of the living room. Another time I saw the shadow of a man walk past as I lay on the sofa relaxing and I often see things out of the corner of my eye. My hubby have seen orbs at least once in our apartment. I sort of get the feeling that there is an old man here. Which is not impossible as we because we both have Asperger live in an apartment which is intended for those who need a bit of help now and then, and most of the pepole who live in these apartments are elderly pepole.

Ball lightening is not paranormal the way we know it to day. In many mythologies ball lightening is given a supernatural explanation, for example the Japanese see it as a Thunder God. However it is a natural phenomena. Though you might want to call it paranormal since science have not completely proven it's existence yet.

Oh by the way I have another story. I was laying in my bed when visiting my mother a month or two ago. I looked up in the roof and suddenly there was a blue male face looking down at me. It was there for a moment and then sort of dissolved. I am not sure if it was male, but it was clearly a face and I think it was male. Another time I lay in my bed and suddenly I saw a white filigree heart with wings floating over my bed. It was so real, just as real as the computer I am typing this on I could have just stretched out and touch it. It was there for a little while and then gone. I sort of think it was an Angel. Perhaps a bit fluffy explanation, but that is what I think it was.

One of my experience was one that happened about 20 years ago. A friend of mine then, rented a room in a flat. The landlord was one of his acquaintance and he was at his girlfriend flat or something. Anyway, my friend told me there was a ghost there. One who had lived there before had commited suicide. He was scared and his brother and anothere guy too. We spent the night there all four becuase we were going away early in the morning. Can't remember what we did but it doesn't matter. No one except me dared to sleap in the room on the first floor. I had ghost experience since I was very small. And in my family, relatives and friends to the family, this wasn't anything strange. All had their share of experince except one who was sceptical. So I awoke in the middle of the night by someone who stared at me in the dark just outside the room. I saw enough to see that it was the ghost and felt it saw me as an invader of its home. I wasn't afraid and told the story next morning. My friend awoke another night that the ghost stared him right in his face. Was he afraid or what. :lol:

That is something I do not understand, why pepole are afraid of ghosts. Sure there are bad seeds, but as most pepole are generally decent most ghosts are to, and besides very few are powerful enough to hurt you even if they should want to. They can however drain a person's energy so it is a point in doing something to protect one's energy system from them. But really the wast, wast majority of ghosts are nothing to fear. I mean you can have pepole who do all sort of dangerous things but are then scared shirtless by their old aunt Lillian's Spirit. And that I do not understand at all.

I used to live in a Cape Cod style house in my home state of N.C. The type where the fireplace is in the center of the house.I had two Himalayan tomcats who would look wildly at the fireplace and then dash past it whenever they got near it. One morning when I woke up I discovered one of my cats dead. Neither my vet nor myself could determine the cause of death. "Oh,well, one of them thangs" as they say around here, but my surviving tomcat would not even enter the living room where the fireplace was located,upon being clawed within an inch of your life! And then one day when I was sitting in the recliner, my oldest son said"Daddy, what is that?" When I turned to look, there was a black cloud coming out of the fireplace!( And this was in July, in N.C., no fire in the fireplace!) When I got up and opened the door to get the kids outside, my cat bolted out the door and has not returned since. Upon inspecting the fireplace, there was no reason for a black cloud to have been pouring from it!WHATCHATHINK!!

Animals are usually far more sensitive than us human beings when it comes to the Spiritual. I think your story is very interesting. Off course it could be leftover soot falling into the fireplace, but for such a could, I have no explanation for it. Might be some negative Energy that the cats felt, or who might even have attacked the cats.

Because it is the unkown and people fear the unkown and because they dont understand something or can't or dont know how to controll it.

True. It is far mor dangerous walking in the middle of the night in a bigger town a friday or saturday. There's no more dangerous than living humans. But people have feared ghosts probably from the beginning of human history. And since we live in a world, at least in the western world, where death has been abolished, becuase of fear of it and nearly everyone want to live forever and be young, people even fear corpses. What is there to fear from a corpse? It wont raise up and chase you and kill you. And most people today haven't even seen a corpse. People dont die today. They use other words like passed away. Another fear we see today is that people are afraid to walk in dark places. They project fears like there are rapists, killers or violent gangs waiting there in the dark to assault them. Most people today find it ludicrous that in the past people feared dark entities in the dark. But its the same. Only different times and humans instead of demons. There seems to be no placed left allmost today where I can walk in the dark except for the forests now. Too much unatural lights. Really painful.

People do not wish to live forever. Trust me I am into transhumanism and life extension and the hostile reactions I get from many pepole when I say that I want to halt or stop my own aging is astonishing. And while yes seeing corpses is not common to day, and do make pepole uncomfortable, it have always done that. Most scientists believe that a fear of corpses are hard wired into us, not as a fear of death, but to keep us away from them to avoid illnesses. Yes pepole want to stay young, as young is associated with beautiful and in this often very shallow world physical beauty is praised as one of the highest virtues. However mention in a crowd that science is getting close to dramatically advance the human life span, or mention Spiritual or magickal methods to do the same, and you will be met with extreme anger.

I agree however that pepole do fear what they do not know, and what they do not understand. A fear to walk outside in the dark however that is understandable. Statistically there is a higher crime rate at night than during the day, and that crime rate do go down when a area is well lit. A ghost however have usually no way to harm a living human being. They can drain some energy, they can make some noise but few either want to or can harm us. Perhaps it is a bit like in the fantasy novel Wizard's First Rule where Zedd a powerful made explains that pepole will fear someone with magic far more than someone with a sword. Magic kills you deader. In a way pepole have always feared the Spiritual. Perhaps because it often works differently and by different laws than the rest of reality and therefore is hard to understand.
