What would you like to see added to the board?

Excellent, I just wanted to make sure.

At one point I had a book shop so then I had an enormous library I suppose!These days I have only three or four hundred books, most of which cover language,history,mythology and magic. Out of that lot only about seventy are occult books but I've been involved in this subject nearly every day and night of my life since childhood so I can afford to have a small but comprehensive collection these days.I would be willing to put a list of my titles up for people to browse if you want,

I would have loved to have a bookstore, and I would love to see a list over your books. It is always fun to see what books others have.

I have between 6 and 10 000 books, I have not counted them, evenly spread out among the topics fantasy and science fiction, RPG books, occultism and magick and nature therapy, with a few extra on topics such a martial arts, bellydance, goth lifestyle, transhumanism and cats. I love my books

Lets start a library today and link it to the homepage of the wiki
and include a brief upload rules page so its obvious no copyright mtl, only pubic domain

I'm willing to attempt creating my own stuff for what it will be worth but I dont want to get anybody in trouble over copyright.Does the stuff in question HAVE to be public domain before I can upload?If not, am I committing a crime as soon as I upload?Never done that before (I'm an upload virgin)HELP!!!

Please advise.
I am having real difficulty in starting a new topic. Each time that I try to begin a new topic I find that the board shuts down and I land back at the start point. It is really frustrating. Have I done or said something to cause me to be shut out? I click on new topic,pick a site and press submit, then find myself back where I was. Help please!

Bloody gremlins! I wrote out a long post on the subject of astral forms and it disappeared when I pressed the preview button. Why does this happen? It is really annoying because its not the first time this has happened to me. I've lost a few posts this way.It is extremely off-putting and acts as a disincentive to contribute.Can you advise me how to avoid it happening again?Thank you.

I wrote out a long post in the 'Norse Paganism surviving tradtions' topic and lost it too.I was pretty much bummed out by that,but I assumed it was my fault,as I should have backed it up or written it in wordpad then posted here.I took ages over it too.Bah.It's happened with me a few times.

I dunno about new topics,can check.I'll try posting one and see if it goes ok.Did you find out why Philoneus or is it still happening?

I hate it when a forum eats my posts. That happens sometimes and it is just so annoying. I try to remember to copy paste my post into note pad before posting just to have it safe if it is long in case something go wrong, but I do sometimes forget. Forums eat posts sometimes, it is just what they do.

I really need to learn how to use this demon infested box better.How do you save things? Is it under one of those silly bloody symbols at the top of the writey-in thingummy box?(The alchohol and the tablets are taking effect, I know that I shouldnt mix them but sometimes I kinda forget).

How do I update my profile?I've always been a bit paranoid about placing personal information on the net but I would like to change what I have offered to include my location and one or two other wee bits of info about myself. Can anybody help me? Thanks anyway.

Go into 'perosnal' on your profile sidebar.You fill out the info there,click submit/save changes [I forgot to do that before,lol],then go into 'personality' and you can add an avatar and signature also.

One thing I do not know if you can change it, but when I click my profile and say show posts they do not show up in chronological order. This can be a bit annoying as I often use my list of posts to keep track of which threads to answer in and the like. I would really love it if there was an option to show previous posts in chronological order.

As well to see a user profile to be able to follow his/her posts. Right now when i click a user image, i get redirected me to my profile.

You're certainly right that user profiles need some work, I've never been able to get them working correctly, unless the SEF URLs are disabled, which breaks every link in Google to this site...

I'll look into a new profile system with some of the options you guys have specified, but currently I'm working on a new moderation system. Unfortunately I don't get a lot of time, I'm only available to work on the project during my lunch break at work, which totals about 5 hours per week, so the odds are that it won't happen any time soon, but I do want to assure you that it's on the agenda, sooner or later.

It's called Agora, it's a Joomla component. It has a profile system, but it's basic and doesn't support Search-engine friendly URLs, I've contacted the developers repeatedly about it, but they just keep telling me it's already fixed, when we've got almost 5000 users here who can tell you otherwise.

An addon profile system would be for the best I think, it would give us some creative possibilities

gave it a go and installed it on my computer and seen it works ok with the profile system. The difference between this forum and the one installed on my comp is that in this forum,
the link to view an user is like: " profile?user_id=2 " and you get redirected to " index.php?option=com_agora&task=profile "
On my computer, the link is like: " profile?user_id=2 " and i get redirected to " profile/preview?user_id=2 "
In admin i have set : Search-engine friendly URLs -> Yes; Use Apache mod_rewrite -> No ; Add suffix to URLs -> No

Thing is that somewhere in the redirect engine it has some code which doesn't work correctly.
It should format the url like this: index.php?com_agora&task=profile&page=preview&user_id=2&Itemid=2
If you try this link you'll see it works, so it's all about the redirect: http://www.occultforum.org/index.php?op ... 4&Itemid=2

Spotted that the problem lies in the redirect engine, located in this file : com_agora\site\controller\profile\_common.php ... so if you want my copy of it, get it from here (make sure to backup yours first) :
http://alpha.roweb.ro/projects/personal ... common.txt (save it, rename to _common.php and the upload on server to com_agora\site\controller\profile\ )
