Re-incarnation & Sex.
When you press into thoughts of re-incarnation or rebirth, you realise that you may well have been married thousands upon thousands of times over your lifetimes and truly loved each spouse. So turning to your current spouse you realise that you have loved before and they too were the love of your life. This may not be a shock in Asia where they believe in re-incarnation and realise their spouse is just for one life.
The strongest logic that shows sex as an illusion is that upon contemplating re-incarnation over the aeons that we have existed. Over 3 billion years on Earth [life on Earth], and the next 500 million years before the sun gets to hot for life or water to exist on earth. We find that we are all related. Go back to a previous life and you may find that your lover in this life may have been a close relative in a past life. In turn we are all related over the aeons of existence. Sex between people is an illusion. And relationships between people have to be re-thought. As the Buddhists say- we are companions through time.
For the human race to continue in the future we could use IVF to conceive children, or try not to think and do it the old-fashioned way.
The process from unwinding from a spouse is to logically remove the bonds of what Buddhists call ‘attachment’, from the veils of illusion. You can still love each other as friends- as companions through time.
We are just one people born into two genders. Your attraction to sex is an illusion. If we could just live without our reproductive organs there would be just one people. Instead we are born into two genders for the sake of continuing the human race. Sex is an illusion. Man and woman are equal just different genders.
For most people, the veils of illusion are strong and there is really a lot of detaching from ‘attachment’ to be done.

So what do you do when you get horny Mark? Holding up a picture of Rosanne? Sorry I couldn't resist. Sex is not an illusion. I dont agree with buddism and all eastern philosophy and their negative view of life.Deny sex and you deny life. That's part of life and something to enjoy. Its good for the pysichal and mental health. Attachments have nothing to do with sex. Attachments exist only because humans dont know themself. You can have sex without attachments. If you deny something as important as sex and deny yourself sex, that might work fine for a while but spend years without it and you will suffer. Meditation is not a substitute. Sex is not something that stand in the way for spiritual enlightment. On the contrary. Nothing can speed up the spiritual progress as sexmagic. The eunuch path wont. Fear of sex and, its power, has led men to deny sex and flee from it. The only eastern path I agree with is the vamachara. Anything can be used to spiritual enlightment. The material world doesn't stand in oppostion with the spiritual. On the contrary.

Re-incarnation & Sex
Excellent post Gandridur.
I love being alive,my senses exist to be used and utilised and sex is part of the sensory experience,it's part of the joy of lifeand it's magickal too,if you let it be.
Life is for living,to the maximum not the minimum. And Life is a trip as well as a journey, lol.

I agree with Nahemah and Gandridur, and would like to add: who made the rule that sex has to be about reproduction, or has to be between people of opposite genders? We can still live "as one people" instead of "two genders" without forsaking sex

A difference that makes no difference, is no difference.

Who made rule? Well they are dead long ago(thankfully) and will remain anonymous. They dont deserve anything else.:/ Its all about social control and nothing else. Sure back in the Norse time it was accepted being gay. No one forbade it. But that doesn't mean everything was like it can be today, depending on where you live. They had the same hypocritical attitude like they have in eastern islamic countries: Only the guy who gets penetrated is despised becuase he is seen as female. And the classical greek era only male homosexuality was accepted. But only between the older teacher and his younger disciple. I thankfully live in a country where less than the half of thepopulation belong to a religion and where religion doesn't have any power. But we can look at countries, Ireland e.g. where homosexuality was a crime until 1993. Which they church protested against, the repeal of the Act. But hey, fucking young boys is a another thing, chatholic priests, right?Aliga wrote:I agree with Nahemah and Gandridur, and would like to add: who made the rule that sex has to be about reproduction, or has to be between people of opposite genders? Re-incarnation & Sex

This is a attempt at the opposite end of the spectrum to the brief paper called ‘Re-incarnation’, by the same author.
A brief recap: ‘Go back to a previous life and you may find that your lover in this life may have been a close relative in a past life’.
‘We were all lovers before we were relatives’ is a concept that may change perception though. When you look back at a past life you can find that the person there (Your past incarnation) was a totally different person to you, not to mention the people around you.
We do indeed live in an ocean, but in this case, not necessarily of suffering.
One thing is certain, consciousness and perception change. Tibetan lamas amongst other holy people were allowed to take lover secretly- she was known as a songyum. Many holy people must have covered the same ground over the millennia, and allow lay people and holy people to marry.
Now, we are all individuals. Before we are relatives, before lovers, we are individuals. From the one into the many. Before being related, two people may have been lovers, just to reverse the brief paper ‘Re-incarnation’.
Here are some thoughts:
We are all just characters in life, all just individuals.
If the family can be seen as an illusion, one thing remains- ‘They are friends you care about’. or if you don’t, wish them all the best for their personal evolution- love thy neighbour.
You may well have nothing in common with a previous life but you remember them because they probably would want to be remembered. You may however have utterly nothing to do with them.
To build from Khalil Gibran, ‘Your children are not your own, they belong to the future’, they are their own lives and their own individuals.
In the future if all were bodhisattva’s, a couple would come together and have a bodhisattva re-incarnated as their child. It’s own individual self.
With past life regression, you remember your past ‘selves’ and find there are now different people in your head, some of them you may not like.
A bodhisattva who is now in his 4th re-incarnation may be little changed since his maturity and more importantly his ‘spiritual maturity’ in his 1st incarnation, whereas his past life regression to earlier lives finds him as different people. With past life regression you find these different people are not you as you are now. Their consciousness has faded (unless past life regression occurs), you are a new person with or without them.
Having bodhisattva’s instead of children. Here is a mature mind rather than a mind that has to grow, the relationship is different.
A bodhisattva would not think of the woman who gives birth to him in say his 4th re-incarnation, as the woman who gave birth to him in his 1st, his ‘original’ mother. He would be more connected to his ‘original’ parents, than being a mature mind being born to people he could leave at age four.
We are all waiting to be born in a place, before we have the possibility of being relatives, or lovers.
If you are interested, seek out someone wise who can answer these questions. I’ve done as much as I can.
