so would it be possible to completely cure someone of diabetes if they had it, and make it so they didn't have it anymore?
EDIT: is this the right forum?

well the actual healing is up to the person not the healer. this is the basis for all skeptics argumentation but what to do? The healed person has to open to receive whatever there is to receive.
Through this process the space for healing can be created and thus takes out the space of disease. I believe any disease can be cured, diabetes included but it would take a holistic and complete treatment much more encompassing that just Reiki.

Whit Reiki healing you can get marvelous results, and yes, i think it is possibel to heal diabetes or other such illness, but that will not usuely be they case, mostly the healing will help, but not totaly remove such illness. And one thing i feel like adding but you probably know, always go to a doctor whit a serious ilness, then try healing or other nature medecine.

As a qualified and long time practicing holistic therapist, I would personally never suggest that diabetes can be "cured". It can however be effectively controlled, especially through the diet alongside the taking of medication (when indicated). I don't personally hold reiki in high esteem, mainly due to the limitations of the training, indeed here in the UK most insurers won't touch reiki practitioners with a bargepole, and for very good reasons. For those of us who spent three years in full time education (not to mention many years of practice) to learn their trade and fully understand the body & disease, it is somewhat infuriating to see badly trained loose cannons being let loose on the public.
Anyway, I am going off topic here. I would personally go and see a good nutritionist or naturopath and possibly combine this with reflexology (to enhance the function of the pancreas, aid in diet control and reduce stress). I would repeat here that if the doctor prescribes medication then take it, these therapies are complimentary NOT alternative.

As a reiki master I would suggest getting a holistic practitioner and put yourself on a dedicated diet and exercise program.
To Martin I would say that I trained for three years to learn how to practice Reiki. I am not a "loose cannon" who steps up and says "I can cure you!" for several reasons. The first of which is that no one "controls" Reiki. The subject allows the healing to the extent that they are willing to accept. There are many reasons why healing is rejected and the most common are that there is sympathy given for illness or guilt that makes one "need" the illness. In most cases Reiki can heal any ailment but most times it take some training of the subject so that they can accept the energy.
As a Reiki master the energy flows through me when ever I heal and I get a treatment as well as the subject. Reiki is a real alternative to long term health care but it all depends on the individual desire to rid themselves of their health problems.

Hi,
I am not a Reiki master. I have done the first set of attunements. My sister was diagnosed with Lupus and had a second doc confirm this diagnosis. She was told that she and her son would need to be "taken care of" in 5-10 years. She changed her diet and lifestyle dramaticly and agreed to recieve reiki and accupressure from me. She recently went in for a check up (@ 5 years after the diagnosis) and her doctor found NO sypmtoms present. "Cured", in "remission"? I don't know. Try every angle.
I will give reiki to a friend with colitis tomorrow. Take care. Good luck.
Be well,
Diablero

"To Martin I would say that I trained for three years to learn how to practice Reiki."
Yes but you can't compare the "training" or "attunements" of reiki with the amount of training, knowledge, practice, examination and continual assessment of a three year full time course at a degree level in a subject such as clinical aromatherapy or naturopathy or medical herbalism etc etc. I don't deny that reiki has a place, but not as the basis of a serious holistic programme to help with maladies such as diabetes. I would much rather that they saw a proper holistic therapist that had recognised qualifications and insurance first and think about reiki as a complement to anything then suggested (although in the case of diabetes the primary care should be from a GP).
"In most cases Reiki can heal any ailment but most times it take some training of the subject so that they can accept the energy."
This is exactly the kind of proclamation that gets the backs up of most qualified holistic therapists and those in the medical field. Therapists and clients have to come to terms with the fact that there isn't always a cure, and it is a measure of ones training when one recognises the limitations of the modality they practise.

Indeed, I don't believe anyone ever has been "cured" of diabetes. However, on the subject on herbs, it is worth consulting a herbalist as in the case of diabetes mellitus there are certain herbs that have been shown to have a hypoglycaemic action, including burdock (which also acts as a mild diuretic due to a an increase in kidney function), carrot, herb robert, nettles, lily of the valley, onion, wormwood and many others. There are also others that have been of aid, including raw garlic (as it stimulates the immune system through increased production of white blood cells and helps remove glucose from the blood), gentian (stimulates the liver and pancreas as well as regulating insulin production), goats rue (reduces sugar levels by working directly on the pancreas) and nettles.
In my opinion insulin dependent diabetes is not something that one should look to be cured from but rather one should seek to try and reduce the insulin dependency and therefore aim to reduce with it the long term effects of insulin dependent diabetes. This can sometimes be achieved through the likes of accupuncture & medical herbalism but mainly through a strict dietry plan.

I do not have a long time experience with reiki, I'm not even a reiki user. But I have participated in some healing sessions where myself and a reiki user performed some healing on a person, and their condition improved much better than it usually would if only one method was used. My natural light healing (which anyone can use without any training) plus reiki from an experienced practitioner, for whatever reason is doubly effective. Probably more so from the reiki, but there is a significant difference when used together.
