Hard wishing....

Post by CaitlinM78 »

Hi, I am new to this Forum. I was just wondering, is it possible to cast a spell simply by focusing all of my energy onto a particular person? Say that what I wished for actually has happened, will it come back to me 10 fold? I have never practiced Majik or spell casting, but I have always been able to push my thoughts into making something happen. I only do it once in a great while. Any thoughts? Questions? Thanks..

That is essentially what magick is.

Everyone possesses this power. It's our inherent ability to manifest.

Just like any skill, some are born with a greater knack than others, or the skill can be acquired through education and practice.

Also, just like any other skill, it can constantly be improved. There is no ultimate finish line as to how far you can go.

Witchcraft is the study, practice and development of this skill. There are many other aspects of the craft, but I think this may be the concept you were seeking to define.

As far as the "bad karma" or "10 fold" theory goes... it's quite true. It's not always so clear cut as saying "3 fold" or "10 fold", but if you use your skill to hurt, harm, curse or control another person, you will feel the effects. The effects usually aren't in physical or material world form, to start. They're usually mental, psychosomatic, or subconscious, with a gradual onset, but obviously what takes effect on your mind and subconscious, will ultimately manifest itself in the material world.

We as individuals have the right to define our own morals and ethical codes to live by, so based on your own, you will know when you are emitting negative frequencies and positive ones.

Magik can essentially grant anything you wish however more specific things demand more focus and energy. It is also important to note that you should be careful what you wish for, as it make come true. So long as you're able to handle the consequences of such actions, you can do as you please.

To develope your powers I suggest meditation. Most any form will help you develope your powers, and there are many places to find different kinds of meditations online and in books depending on how advanced you are. Meditation helps with a lot of things and not just with magik. Physically it boosts metabolism, increases awareness, calms the nerves, lowers blood-pressure etc. Magikally it developes a clearer mind and aids strongly with visualization, another important part of magik. If you can see it in you mind, you can hold it in your hand provided your desire and belief is strong enough.

It is possible to cast spells simply through meditation but it takes focus and you can't have your mind wander too much in order for it to work. Even people who have meditated for years can still have trouble focusing but it gets much easier with practice.

As for the "threefold rule" it is my belief that it is a perversion of nature: but hear me out. It is foolish to think that if one preforms an action it will be returned threefold; good or bad. Where would all of this extra energy come from and why? The fact is the idea of the threefold rule only came into modern witchcraft because Gerald Gardener was mad for all thing Hindu and their belief in kharma. Pre-Gardner the threefold rule did not exist in any form of witchcraft, or paganism, meaning over 5000 years with no such law until one person decided to control witches lesser than himself by enslaving them to, what I belive to the the attempt to Christianize modern magikal practices. The "threefold" or "tenfold" law breaks all the laws of nature and the universe and is only an attempt by a single man in the mid-twentieth century to stop his own followers from using black magik against him. I believe the threefold law to be the blackest of black magik by placing a restiction and preventing one from realizing their true potential. However, I also believe that if you cannot live with the possible outcome of preforming a ritual or spell, you should not do it. It is impossible to control everything if you don't have the knowledge at you disposal, and if something doesn't go as you've planned everything may fall apart even if the desired outcome occurs.

My question to you is this: what are you trying to get this person to do by forcing your will upon them?
To conquer death is not the goal; yet he who conquers all fear achieves true immortality.

There are many ways to manifest the will. In most instances, wishing simply lacks the focus or energy to manifest the will on it's own. This is why we develop intricate or personal methods of focusing the will aka spells, rituals, sigils, etc.

In my experience spellcasting is all about what the mind is doing in any given moment. Meditation is definitely a beginning to understanding what the mind is doing. Spells are casted by people everyday without knowing it. I think in the beginning it is really hard to know what is you and what isn't you. In the beginning it is just experiencing entities. A beginner feels the entity and understands that it might be either self or not self. the next step is noticing that certain entities can be nudged in certain patterns. Anyway this is just to get you started, I have found that the practice of writing a book of shadows and a book of mirrors has helped me immensely.
