The inability to achieve his aspirations or for others to achieve their aspirations makes him feel numb to the world around him. He begins to see the world passing him by like a movie, and the glimpses he pays attention to seem crazy. In such a world, he has nothing to lose, and feels no connection to society (making him feel "not there anymore")

Meaning - It's about how the author is sick of how fake everything is, and how no matter what people do, they can never escape their mediocrity (despite their plans). The bit about "gravity always winning" and the plastic surgery is also a symbol for how natural forces oppose all your efforts to change human nature/others/yourself/etc. The song has a deep transition when he talks about his love being fake. He then talks about how running from his fear is futile, and causes him to "blow through the ceiling". This kind of hopelessness plays on his anxiety, and causes him to be worn out like everyone he perceives to be fake. The speaker then talks about wanting to be fake "all the time", as being real was probably the reason he lost his love.

Meaning - This has a similar meaning to "Fake Plastic Trees", but this one is about the slow death people have when performing minimum wage jobs and other menial tasks. The speaker expresses a desire to kill himself with carbon monoxide (probably using the exhaust from cars); the symbolism of the "handshake" of carbon monoxide is him trading his life for a quiet death. At the last moment, the speaker reminisces on how beautiful his possessions are, and the chorus says "Let me out of here", suggesting a change in heart at the last minute. The song ends in "silence", assuming the speaker either: A) Couldn't escape the choking fumes, metaphorically or symbolically, and died... or B) Resolved to kill himself at last, and died in peace and silence.

He is worried about certain predictions science makes (global warming, for instance), but doesn't mind that he's worried and feels it's natural to worry about such things. However, try as he may, he can't stop trying to explain the world around him, so the "numbers keep on circling him". He gives this thought "most of his time", even if the answers elude him.

Meaning: This song is about a man, driving to have sex with a beautiful woman. He has a car accident, and hears the radioman talking to him about how beautiful the night is, and how women are a curse belonging in Hollywood, where they can be appreciated without interaction. This gives the speaker an idea: become a screenwriter. The speaker then begins to exploit, or observe the exploitation, of teenagers in hollywood. All the while, the time hasn't changed from 5 am, the time which he crashed his vehicle. All these things combine to give a vivid image of a man regretting his actions, and actions others took that resemble his (going to hollywood to sell themselves, he's going to recede to sell himself), and possibly regretting his actions just before death.

Meaning - It's about a man who's in love with a girl. The song playing in the background is "lemon tree", about how love's fruit is impossible to eat. The speaker wants nothing more than to "drink up" janine, but Janine is as vast as the baltic sea, and he's unable to take in all of her at once.
