Hindu Mythology

I have fairly good knowledge of hindu mythology. I have read it many times over. But I could not find any thing sublime & lofty in it. I will sum up the whole hindu mythology in following two words :-

(1) CURSES

(2) PERVERSION.

Based on your other thread concerning your arguing against Christianity and now this one against Hinduism, I am suggesting that you be warned against proselytizing on these boards.

Moderators?

P.S. If I were to choose any religion on the planet with which to merge, it would be Hinduism, probably in a Shaivite/advaitic sect. Dig deeper, past the murtis and mantras and gurus and Vedas, and you will see the truth that the Buddha preached. You are obviously clueless as to the real bases of these 2 religions.

As the saying goes, learn the rules before you break them.

Or rather, see where they are coming from, and understand it as a truth before you bash it.

As is taught in some places, learn the arguments for and against hinduism and be able to defend or offend it without hesitation.

Are you looking to learn from what you're researching? Or are you looking for wisdom to help you to learn from others? Or just out-right bad-mouthing this religion...

Do you feel you have gotten anywhere by coming to this conclusion or was it all a waste of time?

Anyway. You get a prize! *virtual enlightenment*

I agree with what your saying. Breaking the rules is wrong and that person should be punished.

Naomi Chan had started many unwanted threads on hindu mythology. To contain & check her, I started this thread.

what u said is correct .Hinduism is often mistaken for something bad. may be its the way the god has been described in it made this difference. I would say its the most advanced religion, although it is the oldest . It existed before any other religion in the world. Its many time older than christianity and other religion. .Hinduism has never compelled any other person to join it,where as religions like chritianity and islam had forcefully compelled many to join them. It doesnt compells its follower to go to temple, but christians and muslims are forced to do so. all the horrific god as u describe it are avatars taken by god to destroy evil and to protect human race. hindu's holly books are the the oldest ones and almost all religions have copied some parts of it into their books with a little twist. Their had been no attacks carried out by hindus on other religions except to protect their lives from other religions. But if u look on other religions , you may find that they have carried out many attacks on other religions to spread their religion. In hinduism there is only one god , but it has take many avatars to keep this world working. This world is just a fake thing ,and nobody is going to be happy or sad for ever .Its a cycle.things are not going to be perfect 4 u always . People are craving for material satisfaction , but its not going to keep u happy 4 ever.you will realise that when u become little bit old (to understand it finally). People from christianity and islamism are totally blind( not all, but most of them). they just dont want to see the good in other religions and just try to eliminate others. As for scientific research , many thing described in hinduism is getting proved day by day. Hinduism doesnt support killing any animal whether its for eating or any other purpose, whereas many religions support killing animal for eating ,even they eat meat inside their worship place.
SPECIAL NOTE : most of hindu people love other religions and doesnt hesitate to go to another religions worship place , whereas this is not the case with other religions. What ever i have written is true , doesnot involves any false statement or exageration.[[[[[[ THEN HOW CAN YOU CALL HINDUISM A SATANIST RELIGIONS]]]] . [[you may ask about the scrifices give in india ,is it not a sin ?? well my friends it has nothing to do anything with hinduism , its just a form of black magic performed to achieve one's greed or harm others . its just like witchcraft. And god surely punishes people involved it such practices whatever may be the religion.\\Hinduism doesnt have a head(leader) to rule the entire religion ,where as many other religions have heads(leader) ,who lives a luxurious life , and keep the control of their religion. According to hinduism keeping control of an individuals or communities mind (in terms of ideas and belief is a very great sin)Hinduism gives every man a free soul....

I think, Hinduism is not so bad. It also depends on what perspective you take it. What about Yoga and Siddhis.
