Deity of Concentration, Focus...

Post by dmal »

Which concept, archetype, deity (of any pantheon), natural phenomena, or chemical property
is associated with these attributes:
absolute focus
ceasless concentration
careful attention
super ability to learn
etc

I'm not talking about a god of mental health, because the normal healthy mind is a storm of random thoughts.

My goal is to be able to absolutely focus with abnormal ability on a task at hand.

For scholastic purposes, I want the ability to learn the maximum in the minimal time.
This requires abnormal concentration. Some people seem to have this as a normal genetic trait.

It seems to me that the people who have this snake-like focus usually aren't interested in scholastic endeavors,
and they wisely go after more simple vocations like carpentry.

Well, I'm looking to invoke the traits of a mathemetician.

Which deities come to mind?

I haven't found much info so far. Only, its worth noting that the Roman Catholic Christian pantheon has a saint Dymphna, patron saint of mental disorders, but hey I'm looking to create a mental disorder, not cure one.
Next up is Saint Isidore of Seville, patron saint of databases and the internet. His life endeavors are definitely inspiring.
But alas, I'm still searching for a deity with a more clear relevence to patient focus and concentration and learning...

Deity of Concentration, Focus...

In Chinese religion, there is a god you can pray to if you want to pass a university examination.

Not much of a response. Which chinese deity?

I am also interested in this question. People often talk about Thoth and Hermes. Hermes is not just the winged guy as a messenger of the gods but is an ancient eygptian diety who taught sciences, he was an occultist. If you haved learned about this find some sources about the emerald tablets, its usual freemason literature. He is relate to thoth, or djuti. He is the god of measurement. There are alot of correspondences, but he is a god of knowledge right angles (geometry and carpentry). I think of him as the god of infinity (and its reduction), but also, architecture like...
well look him up. hes a favorite of most.

Maybe you could try praying to joseph (father of Jesus)?

My idea right now is actually three fold. The first is to create the deity you want, through focus, and intention and desire. By having the desire, pour it into a sigil that represents this. As you meditate, when you do, activate the power of this sigil regularly enough (or through meditation let it activate in your mind, brain, backbrain and body, and genetics the qualities that correspond to what you are looking for).

Another idea would be in a dream or a trance journey go with your angel or guide to meet a deity or find some majik gift that brings you these qualities.
I also think that working with shiva, being shiva or chaksmavara (sp real bad.. one of the tibetan versions of shiva) and meditating in the typical shiva way will increase this mindsight, but shiva is not so scholastic like thoth.

lastly, tell me what you do.
