Baphomet question
Baphomet question
Hi. I'm not totally sure this is the proper forum for this, but...
Can anyone tell me what the number 7 with the number 3 underneath it, means in conjunction with Baphomet?

Re: Baphomet question
It means using the 7 gates to reach enlightenment through Binah (3) and Geburah (Baphomet 5). At least that's what my 30 spirits are telling me.Occultess wrote:Hi. I'm not totally sure this is the proper forum for this, but...

Re: Baphomet question
Thanks!
Man, I've really gotta start studying Baphomet!
Let me ask you something.....Have you ever tried connecting to Baphomet before? I tried to in the past because I kept seeing images of him in my head, but....I was confused by the results.

Re: Baphomet question
Yes I'm connected to Pan. Don't forget I have incredible visualization. A few weeks ago I was summoning him often in order to get that strange feeling of wanting to push forward. I did this to move forward with my true will.Occultess wrote:Thanks!

Confused by the results? I don't know why this happens. I think you have to completely reject the christian version of Satan in order to have the proper results. Other than that I don't know what to say. Could you be more specific?
Re: Baphomet question
It actaully might be just like you said. The Christian image of Satan thing. When I tried to connect I got a sensation of evil. It seemed like there was something there. Like a spirit or entity. I have considered that it only happened because he looks so much like the Satan image that it either caused it to feel evil or....maybe for that or another reason I accedentally connected to something else that was evil. Or the image that I kept seeing wasn't really of Baphomet and I just thought it was, but I'm pretty sure it was.
I'm even open to the possibility that perhaps something evil knew I was trying to connect to Baphomet and decided to show up to freak me out and get me to stop. *shrug*
I did some reading on him last night, though and.....well, I'm still confused by him, but I have a better perspective now then I did. I think this is one entity that I will have to just discover who/what he really is on my own. By direct connection and by private study.
Thanks for all your help! [happyface]

Re: Baphomet question
Every tried angel dust? It (Baphomet, Pan, etc) kind of feels like that but without the hangover or negative effects. That was when I was samadhi-ing with him. I personally don't take it too far. Maybe I should though?
Re: Baphomet question
No. Never tried Angel Dust.
But I had a dream last night that had an image of Baphomet on something and.....well, I was in some stadium and I was a member of a sports team (which CLEARLY shows that it was a dream) and I was a guy, too. I loaded a rifle and I was supposed to shoot it up towards...I don't know, and I was trying to figure out where to point it and there was this wall (indoor staduim) with stuff on it and one of the things had an image of Baphomet on it and it used to belong to the Knights Templar. I was almost going to shoot it, but then I was like, "I can't shoot that. It's holy." Plus, I didn't want to shoot it since it belonged to the Templar Knights.
I guess something's coming through. [smile]

Re: Baphomet question
They of the Sinister Tradition (who regard Baphomet as the Bride of Satan, a mighty dark goddess and acausal being who exults in the dark feminine) might say that the number 7 hints to the Seven-Fold Sinister Way, or the Septenary system as expounded by the ONA in their manuscript entitled "NAOS." As for the number 3... I don't know.

Re: Baphomet question
Levi stated that Baphomet is the perfect representation of the end result of the Great Work. Of course, it's not meant to be taken 100% literal, but rather, the traits of Baphomet should be considered in a symbolic manner.
The end result of this process will yield the perfect restored golden man (well, not really male, but an androgyne = our perfect mercury duplex = 0 = the fool = LIL): Adam of Light, the Adam Redeemed. Not only has the individual eaten from the Tree of Knowledge, but also the Tree of Life. The man has become "like them." This ties deeply into the Luciferian mysteries. In Levi’s depiction, Baphomet embodies the culmination of the alchemical process – the union of opposing forces to create Astral Light – the basis of magic and, ultimately, enlightenment.
...
Baphomet is therefore symbolic of the alchemical Great Work where separate and opposing forces are united in perfect equilibrium to generate Astral Light. This alchemical process is represented on Levi’s image by the terms Solve and Coagula on Baphomet’s arms.

Re: Baphomet question
... Or you could say Baphomet represents Synthesis.
I got to playing with 7 and 3 and I found these on a search:
7 is the only dimension, besides the familiar 3, in which a vector cross product can be defined.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross_product
And
343 = 7 to the power of 3, nice Friedman number since 343 = (3 + 4)cubed.
It is z in a triplet (x,y,z) such that x to the power of 5 + y to the power of 2 = z to the power of 3.
And
I love this one:
Seven, the fourth prime number, is not only a Mersenne prime (since 2cubed − 1 = 7) but also a double Mersenne prime since the exponent, 3, is itself a Mersenne prime.
M_{M_2} = M_3 = 7
More info on the Mersenne and doubling below:
Double Mersenne primes
A double Mersenne number that is prime is called a double Mersenne prime. Since a Mersenne number Mp can be prime only if p is prime, (see Mersenne prime for a proof), a double Mersenne number M_{M_p} can be prime only if Mp is itself a Mersenne prime. The first values of p for which Mp is prime are p = 2, 3, 5, 7, 13, 17, 19, 31, 61, 89. Of these, M_{M_p} is known to be prime for p = 2, 3, 5, 7; for p = 13, 17, 19, and 31, explicit factors have been found showing that the corresponding double Mersenne numbers are not prime. Thus, the smallest candidate for the next double Mersenne prime is M_{M_{61}}, or 22305843009213693951 − 1. Being approximately 1.695×10694127911065419641, this number is far too large for any currently known primality test. It has no prime factor below 4×1033.[2] There are probably no other double Mersenne primes than the four known.2,3,5,7.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Mersenne_prime
There are various other permutations,of 7 and 3,just saying ..... sometimes maths can be funky and 7 superior to 3,might have little bit of laterality, mibbe too ?
Lol,I am no kind of maths genius, this is all on Wikipedia and It felt intriguing when I looked it up.
PS:Oh and this again:
7 is the only dimension, besides the familiar 3, in which a vector cross product can be defined.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross_product
A matter of chirality,lol.

Re: Baphomet question
Synthesis is a very short & simple way of explaining it, but leaves out a lot of the details.

Re: Baphomet question
I still hold that Baphomet represents scaremongering created by the church around the time of the trials of the fallen Knights Templar. Under torture the temple knights were forced to sign confessions stating that they worshipped Baphomet, a creature that looks not unlike Pan of the old Pagan faiths, and thus were stripped of all the wealth and power they had accumulated up until that point, that money going to the church. This was the fate of several of the knightly orders - they simply became too politically powerful and were deemed a threat by church and/or state, and so were tried as heretics - claims being made that they sided with devils that they had brought back from the holy lands after the crusades.

Re: Baphomet question
No way! Baphomet is an androgyne energy, Lilith is a strongly female energy. Lilith and Baphomet would work well together, but they definitely arent the same thing.akimbomoss wrote:This is what I got so far: Baphomet = Lilith
I'd say Baphomet = Pan and Lilith = Ishtar if youre looking for correspondances, but to say Baphomet and Lilith are one in the same is completely out of left field.

Re: Baphomet question
Vector cross product,7 and 3,dimensionally related.
Check out the diagram in the link and visually extrapolate,if you will.I did .

Reminded me of this,a lot but not exactly:
http://youtu.be/ONZX9GeeygY
Chirality [handedness]lol,of a special kind.Septenary and Ternary.
A bit longer explanation, than 'Synthesis' and more numbery stuff to it too,but hey you gotta mix it up a bit,in the processing right? [thumbup]
I 'm not that Religious and I have an otherwise calibrated set of perception filters outside of the Abrahamic/Dualistic,so I interpret a little differently.Ymmv.

Re: Baphomet question
This is what Manly P. Hall said on this issue:Case wrote:I still hold that Baphomet represents scaremongering created by the church around the time of the trials of the fallen Knights Templar. ...
Now, whether this is the case, I cannot say for sure, because I haven't tracked back the history of this composite symbol to any real degree.“The practice of magic – either white or black – depends upon the ability of the adept to control the universal life force – that which Eliphas Levi calls the great magical agent or the astral light. By the manipulation of this fluidic essence the phenomena of transcendentalism are produced. The famous hermaphroditic Goat of Mendes was a composite creature formulated to symbolize this astral light. It is identical with Baphomet the mystic pantheos of those disciples of ceremonial magic, the Templars, who probably obtained it from the Arabians.”

Re: Baphomet question
The earliest example of Baphomet comes from 12th century Latin, and is a version of the name Mohammed - the prophet of Islam:Aleilius wrote:This is what Manly P. Hall said on this issue:Case wrote:I still hold that Baphomet represents scaremongering created by the church around the time of the trials of the fallen Knights Templar. ...Now, whether this is the case, I cannot say for sure, because I haven't tracked back the history of this composite symbol to any real degree.“The practice of magic – either white or black – depends upon the ability of the adept to control the universal life force – that which Eliphas Levi calls the great magical agent or the astral light. After that, it only appears again at the trial of the Templars in the 14th century. If Baphomet really was an Arabian god form, then surely he/she would have appeared in several of the many texts of the Arabian empires, seeing as they were rather more advanced than their Western counterparts at that time and had a tendancy to write everything down, especially their gods and demons? Even if a good percentage of the writings of the empire were destroyed as heresies, as they were, enough would have survived for the Baphomet legend - a demon of some reknown by all regards if it was taken up by one of the most powerful knightly orders of the time, to have survived in some text or another, surely?ab Luy venseretz totz los cas/Cuy Bafometz a escarnitz/e·ls renegatz outrasalhitz ("with his [i.e. Jesus'] help you will defeat all the dogs whom Mahomet has led astray and the impudent renegades"). The relevant lines are translated in Michael Routledge (1999), "The Later Troubadours", in The Troubadours: An Introduction, Simon Gaunt and Sarah Kay, edd. (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press), p. 112.
Re: Baphomet question
Here's a link to the Wiki on Baphomet.
It's actually surprisingly well referenced.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baphomet
Claims 1098 CE as the earliest reference to B-diddy, in a crusader's letter, and there's a link to an etext of it on G-docs.

Seems you guys are wrote. I got a bump on lilith, she wasn't going to say no and usually I look for yes or no answers on my body LOL. Pan - star lady then lilith then? What about the Tarot trump "lust"?
Re: Baphomet question
Come to think of it, I also read somewhere recently that there is a tie/relationship between Baphomet based on the whole goatiness thing, but I don't think it was referenced...
Food for thought, perhaps?

Re: Baphomet question
This was the OP question, the topc has veered onto Baphomet's disputed origins, which is rather cool, but a bit sidetracked, lol. It's cool that is has expanded, though,so I 'm not being critical. Can anyone tell me what the number 7 with the number 3 underneath it, means in conjunction with Baphomet?
[I 'm really just butthurt nobody wants to play numbers with me.... [rolleyes] ]
No takers on the primes and and dimensions,re 7 and /or 3? [wink]
I am rereferencing Septenary there and it was mentioned in an ONA context earlier too,by another member.Nobody conneting Arabic origins of Baphomet with Arabic origins of mathemagical numbers either? [confused]
No comments further on aspects of synthesis ,acausal to causal, come on, surely folks? [and back again and inbetween too,of course, lol.]
WE NEED MORE NUMBERS IN THIS TOPIC...
or mibbe not...

@The Seeker again, bit off topic ,but not really: do you remember the mangleagrams I showed you before? This topic and the 7 and 3 question ,gave me the missing part of the working that I needed but was struggling with...343 and Fano Planes in the 7 dimensional model of vector cross product.

Re: Baphomet question
I participated for several occasions in group invocation of Baphomet. Somehow I got the expression of very dirty energy, maybe the problem was in collective energy surrounding Baphomet as "Satanic" symbol or the error was in use of Liber A'ASH as invocation text.. Nevertheless, didn't like it. Now I stick with less complicated deities [cool2]

Resurrection time for this thread. [yay] [crazy]
I feel it timely to explain that I used maths in my posts here to illustrate similarity to what akimbomoss said RE:
Gateways,7 and 3's and Baphomet and me. [greensmile]
There may be a little smoke and mirrors too,but that's just all part of the fun, isn't it?
See those triangles above?
There are downward pointing triangles within them.[nodes 1,2 and 3 and 1,2 and 4,respectively]]
You know that 'as above so below' maxim, that Baph's hands do?
Yeh.You can make that work mathematically, with the numbers n shapes stuff.Sacred geometry.
If you fill in more nodes on the triangle lines [golden section style,3rd of the way along etc.] you can make a unicursal hexagram shape too.And more.
I think the sixes within and without that lead from there is when it starts getting more into what some would call the Merkabah.Wheels n spins n such.Cross tranlationally speaking.
All this from interpreting what the 7 and 3 might mean, welll, this is how that rolls for me.IMMV.of course.
I do like all the Crusader tales and the myths around The Baphomet, though, they are very interesting reading and still very much worth exploring. [grin]
