Okay, so we have the Magical Battle for Britain per Dion Fortune et al, and the creation of the LS. These were big enterprises featuring the participation of a number of groups and individuals working towards a common goal.

Can anyone think of any other such projects?

I think there was something involving burying large orgone chunks at the north pole at the turn of the millennium? I might have made that one up from cobbled-together half-memories though...

Now that's very accurate Vashta.Lightworkers have done a wonderful project those last few years with love and understanding.They are here to "hold the love and the light " that is radiating from the infinite-all or creator GOD,and to trasmit that energy through their words,thoughts,feelings and actions in order to broadcast or "stream" the cosmic energy into the minds and hearts of humanity; many who may not be consciously holding onto this light on their own.It is almost as if they are transforming the lower dark vibrations and transforming it into higher light vibrations. "spreading the love".The ultimate goal is to help themselves and humanity ascend as a planetary whole. Ascension is the movement from one lower form of consciousness/energy into a higher or cosmic awareness/vibration...i've seen that...i've felt it from head to tow,with my team's work...great experience. [yay]

There have been tons of large scale magical projects - whenever a big group of magical folk gather together in one place and decide to perform a ritual en masse they are effectively performing a big magical project. Groups like the Golden Dawn, the various lodges of Thelema, the IOT and the AutonomatriX to name just a few have both performed in the past and/or perform to this day large scale magical rituals.

This and the other current threads that have been sparked by a question of mine seem to be leading to something.

I'm fed up (deliberate pun) with the Lords of Obesity having all the say. I am angry about being bombarded us with adverts for crap food - even during the breaks in "The Biggest Loser" - which totally outweigh (!) the pathetic attempts by the Government to tell the dumb population that there is a biological time bomb ticking loudly and, hey, guys, ever thought of trying some exercise for a change?

(Better stop the rant there!)

So there's been something rattling around my skull for a few days now and I had a brainstorming session with a magical mate yesterday trying to get an angle on all of this. We scoured the pantheons and explored SOIs and I am now convinced we should have a crack at something.

I want us to develop something that will hopefully stem the tide. I feel really passionate about this so don't dismiss this as an academic exercise/experiment/project to create another LS.

Are you up for it?

Can I suggest you first refer to the threads "Is a logo a sigil?" and "Grouping Sigils" as it is out of the discussion on those topics that this idea has arisen.

I guess the goal has yet to be refined but what is suggested is a challenge (if that is the right expression) to the egregores of McDonalds et al that are destroying people by obesity.

As I personally see it the goal would be to empower people to break out of the spell of KFC/McD etc and take control of their lives. To empower them to respect and nurture their bodies by giving what they need to be effective/healthy.

I have been inspired by the discussion on the creation and evolution and power of Ellis. It would be great to use a similar tool.

I like where this seems to be going and would certainly be keen to get involved if this evolves into what I hope it will.

Just a few thoughts:
People who are trapped in the monkey mind maze of Mac D, KFC, Television etc., I believe are in that situation due to a large number of things unrelated to these things. These things are just ways in which they find expression. Of course the majority of sleeping munkees express this whatever in these ways because it is shoved in their faces constantly and these fucked up features that have been introduced to our reality have been tightly interwoven. Remove or cripple these things, and they will just find other shit to fill the gap with, or there will already be something waiting. Built into the design. I could go on but I'm already getting irritated with my tone. I'm sure those wif nogginz get za pikcha.
The point that I want to build up to is that it is each person's individual responsibility to wake up. I don't believe any good will come from removing the toys from the monkeys if they'll just find more and I don't think many would even come close to 'waking up' as a result of a little shudder. My opinion is that some are meant to be blind in this lifetime and I feel it is useless to tamper with that. Everything has its place.

However, I do think if we could gnaw down to the root of this madness we would see some very smart, aware and devious people who care only about themselves and deserve severely to get fucked. And fucked. And fucked... yeah [crazy]

I hope I'm not missing the point here and going off on a weird tangent...

Here is what I believe:

Structures of control and those that put them in place are the root of the shit. Upset the structures of control. It may not look like it at first glance, but almost everything people in cities occupy their time with is a structure of control. Subculture, counterculture, fashion, cars, money blah blah blah -> don't need to say what has been said by countless other humies.'

My wish is this: To upset the balance. To break the P ___a t=t urn. TO FUCK UP THE STRUCTURE. I want to bite down hard at the root of all megalomania.
Basically, if this is where this thing would go, I'm game. I do think though that it will bring about lots of turmoil, but in the same light I think it would only be accelerating part of a process whose outcome is unavoidable.

I agree there are all kinds of reasons why people dis-respect their bodies and we can only reasonably hope to affect a proportion of them with whatever we come up with due to this I suppose.

The egregores of these companies are sucking these people in. If we pull just a handful back from the brink of that pot of fat then that's something!

What I hope to do is not so much set out to directly destroy these egregores but OVERWHELM them with a more powerful egregore. If they are destroyed in the process then all well and good. I guess I'm suggesting that we "jam the signal " with an equally beguiling signal that offers the road to a healthy life.

The body is a temple so why bung it full of crap!

What do you propose for your delivery mechanism for this eye opening SOI? How are you going to get your message out to all the people of the world so they can see the illusion they have been living their lives under? Yes, you can create a powerful sigil from this SOI, but youre going to need some form of delivery mechanism to show the sigil to the people so it can work upon their subconscious minds and open their eyes to the lies of their consumerist eating habits. Are you going to buy a second of TV air time to flash your sigil on to?

Since the inception of LS the reach and power of the internet has grown phenomenally so surely that's our way to reach mega loads of people - as well as low tech glitterbombing of course! There are ways of manipulating the media to get airplay, believe me!

A little imagination is required,but social networking is a huge medium these days and there are other creative and often free ways to spread things around.
I get nostalgic about the good old days of graffiti bombing,lol,another possible means of attracting attention.

Getting it out into Public spaces and gathering points etc ,can be done in various ways,and also by viral communication techniques and prolly a lot more too.

The LS sigil was spread around in interesting ways like these,if I recall corrrectly.

Im not being cynical, Im just asking if you have a plan for how to deliver your message to the world. I hadnt thought of social media - thats actually a very good idea, as is viral marketing and youtube. The DKMU utilises youtube as a delivery mechanism for Ellis and the LS sigil, as well as music, graffiti, and a whole range of other routes. The idea concerning flashing your sigil over the TV was actually one Ive had for other projects - it could be set to run at key times when food advertising was being shown, like around dinner time. I have no idea how much a seconds worth of air time would cost, but I dont think it would be much.

Dont think Im saying your ideas are nonsense though - far from it, I think this idea is really excellent.

I was thinking that once the sigil is designed that I'd print it on stickers and put them all over Taco Bell, McDs, etc. (Maybe for that particular thing there should be another sigil/sticker/sign meaning "Poison! Stay the fuck away!") That was a very effective initial method of spreading the LS. I'm thinking I could also draw a huge version of the sigil on a sign and take it down to the local occupy protest where it will be photographed, displayed on the local news, and people at the protest will ask about it.
Definitely will spread it through facebook, etc. Also, bulletin boards at laundromats, college campuses, etc., perhaps with slogans attached that say things like "your body is YOUR temple", "don't eat poison!" and the like.
Another thought: we should target areas where low income and homeless people congregate like bus stations and things because those people are the most susceptible to the temptation of fast food.

As I see it distribution is the easy bit. What is daunting me is the task for formulating just the right SOI/sigil!

"Poison - stay the fuck away!" is a big part of it but only half of it. It would be great just to say "Fuck off McDonalds!" but they are only one of a group of seducers. Somehow we need to group them all together in a meaningful way for whatever we create.

We also need to create the right positive element - the empowerment side of it - body as a temple keeps coming up for me!

So it's repulsion from the seducers and attraction to healthy lifestyle.

The challenge is to encapsulate that!

This is thinking too small - you dont want the sigils placed around buildings, you want them placed around websites and logos, or around adverts online or on TV. Just placing the sigils on or around your local supermarket would be a start, but if you really want to make a change you have to go international and global. I do definitely agree with the idea of splitting the sigils however, and not mixing the messages. One sigil for the unhealthy foods and one sigil for the 'your body is a temple' message definitely sounds like a sensible idea, unless youre going to make some form of hypersigil that combines all your messages into one big message, which could be another direction to take this project in.

I'm not suggesting that local is the only approach, but the LS project was extremely successful through it. I fully intend to get these sigils into mass media by any means necessary, but I also think that small scale glitterbombing has a more concentrated and powerful effect on individuals. I'll never forget the first time I encountered "magick is real" written in sharpie on the corner of a City Hall building.

It's a twin message we are trying to put over and it's a matter of making it work somehow - that's where the expertise you guys possess will come in so handy!

Personally I see both small and large scale actions working here and look forward to both posting sigils on the internet AND sticking physical sigils onto the door of the local McD etc. The more creative the better. Can't wait!

What came up for me this morning was the image of a skull (as per pirate symbol). The emblems of KFC and McD fill its eye sockets. The crossed bones under its chin are replaced by crossed dinner forks. One bears a chunk of dripping fat. One has impaled a bunch of french fries (chips to me).

Emblazoned across this is a red ("mustn't do!") stripe - I assume this is a universal sign but I may be wrong.

With this are the words "REJECT JUNK FOOD!"

(PS I have done a little work, working with a group of shamans 'journeying' to the Spirits of Institutions to discover what help, if any, we might be able to give. So I have a tiny little experience of this kind of thing, but from a shamanic rather than magickal standpoint, which also reflects my background too. As a huge generalization I have found shamanic methods are a more effective use of my time to create change in the material world, than magickal ones, but that may simply reflect my lack of training in this field)
