Healing circle

Post by jthorp »

I was wondering if anyone was interested in joining me for a healing circle. A friend of mine does a healing circle every Thursday and I think it's a great idea. We can all synch up with a particular time and day. What I mean about a healing circle is basically going to your sacred space, lighting a candle and we can each have a list of what needs to be healed and work on each other instead of self-healing. Of course, all healing is welcome. It could be physical disorders, mental disorders, or even just helping someone through a rough patch in their lives.

If interested, PM me or be friends with me on FB, if you aren't already. :) Write to disirdevi@hotmail.com or use that to search me on FB. :)

Blessings!

I am interested, but mostly in doing it hereabouts.
I light candles weekly on behalf of friends/family and other folks already,I also engage in a bit of bell, book and candle regularly, in this respect.

I tend to deal with catharsis most in my practices with others,it's a necessary part of healing, but one part that I feel is somewhat underdeveloped in most systems.

We have an active healing project on board here,if you might be interested too?

Hello,

I have been thinking for a while about writing some facebook apps for the site, and think this might be a nice one to start with.

The beauty of it is that the apps can accept facebook or forum logins, and it could be accessed through either. I've done some little tests on it before, and I think I can make it work (although I think there might be a problem with facebook logins at the moment: mine hasn't been working for a few days). So, you could use it from facebook or the forum.

A healing circle app would be nice, we could use it to form circles and keep lists and a note of when we're free, just to make co-ordinating it all a bit easier. I would imagine it something like this:
The main page lists healing groups you can join, or gives you the option to create your own. Groups you are a member of are at the top of the list. When you click on a group, it either presents an application to join form or allows you to join if it is an open group, maybe the option to submit a healing request?, and lists members if the list is visible to non-members. When you click a group you are a member of, it gives you a shared calendar, a resources area (for writing notes for the healing group, study materials etc, like a mini message board), and a list of your healing lists. Depending on permissions, a user can create new lists, delete old ones, or add and remove people in the lists..

If you can think of anything to add that would be great. ^_^ I don't know how long this will take to complete, but I think it would be a good thing.

I'm also interested in joining a healing circle :D We do have the Asclepius project here, but it's been a long time since we've done anything and I would love to be involved in a healing project.

Ok, well, we have some members for a healing group ^_^

I don't know how long it'l take to complete, if there are any php/html/facebook developers or graphic designers interested in getting involved in the project, that might be helpful :P

You can check the progress at http://www.occultforum.org/?option=com_healingcircle which I think currently only accepts forum logins, although it has some facebook php code that I think is broken, which I'll need to investigate before it can be used from its facebook canvas page http://apps.facebook.com/healing-circle - you can use it with a forum login currently though, I think, unless it's not published or something. Not much on there right now, but it's where I'll be working on the code, so you can see how progress is coming. Help beta testing would be appreciated ^_^ I'll post here with any questions that arise during development, and to notify you guys of milestones and such along the path.

It'll be inside an iframe when used (like on the facebook canvas page), which means people - anyone can add it to their own website using a snippet of code.

In the meantime, we could put together a list and discuss availability, maybe get some practice in together. I'm available between 6pm and 11pm weekdays and about 11am-11pm weekends, GMT, I do have a life but it's pretty flexible, and there's room to pick a time for this at the moment.

I'd like to put myself forward as a healing recipient. I recently lost someone very close to me, and I think it would help if I received some mental and emotional healing, in addition to what I'm doing for myself. I would really appreciate it at any rate ^_^

It's good to see active interest in the healing ways [thumbup]

I've done a bit of work on this today, it's not much of the product finished yet but it is a start :P Currently it lists groups, including indicating your memberships, and allows you to create groups. The stylesheets it's using are from another component I was developing as a test, so they need to be cleared out and re-created for this app, this isn't how the final thing will look.

Groups don't have individual pages yet unfortunately, but that will come soon.

I'll likely have time to work on this again when I get in from work tomorrow, so I'll post another update once I've made some more progress, but now it's book, bath, and bed :P
