What is this type of meditation called?

Post by barnacle »

In this video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keyQy8P0NEI
they talk about using meditation to draw in cosmic energy. They say that this cosmic energy spreads throughout the etheric body and when you get enough of it, you can access higher states of consciousness, activate your third eye, astral travel and do all kinds of interesting things. I want to learn more about this but if I just google meditation, most of the links talk about meditation for relaxation and other petty bullshit like that. Is there a specific term for this type of meditation? Is it called transcendental meditation or is that something else?

Really what I wanna do is just start doing this kind of meditation so I can start gaining more cosmic energy in order to cure my drowsiness.

From what I know, this influx of energy occurs in "normal" meditation. "Sleep is unconscious meditation. Meditation is conscious sleep." So both sleeping and meditating are means to obtain cosmic energy. However, to gain a significant amount of energy, one must meditate correctly and for enough time. I may be wrong regarding this meditation not being specific, but I think all kinds of meditation do this to some level.

I'm trying to get to learn how to meditate like this but the part I'm struggling with is the part where you focus on your breathing. When I put my attention on my breathing, I automatically take control of my breathing and start doing it manually. How do you focus on your breathing but at the same time, allow your body to do it automatically? When I focus on it and start doing it manually, my breaths get much deeper which is the opposite of whats supposed to happen according to that video.

It's difficult to explain. I could say you put a "wall" blocking your focus from manually breathing. The key is to relax. There are many techniques, of course. Recently the following topic was posted here on the forum.

Check it out. It really helps me to relax. I forget not only my breath, but my body also. You don't need to do only this "Archangel Meditation", you can do it briefly, and once you are relaxed, start the "regular" meditation. This is my suggestion. With time, you will learn.

Thanks a lot! I'm able to focus on my chest moving up and down without automatically breathing manually so this method works for me.
