Thoughts on OTO
I recently went to an informal OTO meetup in my area to feel out the group and get a sense of what they're all about. I was pleasantly surprised with the people I met. I felt instantly comfortable and it was nice to be able to talk to people face to face about the concepts and workings of a magickal lifestyle. The non-judgmental attitude was very inviting and there was no high pressure like I was worried about.
All in all, I enjoyed myself and met a lot of interesting, knowledgeable people. Being the skeptic I am though, I can't help wondering if there's more than meets the eye to this order. I'm looking for general impressions, opinions and any knowledge about the order that anyone can offer. I know that the path you choose is primarily up to you and what you're comfortable with, and what resonates within you, but I'd still like to hear some outside information or a devil's advocate.
If I decided to become a minerval I'd have time to get to know everyone better before being initiated, which is also something that struck well with me. If they give you time to feel everything out with no pressure, chances are they ACTUALLY care about you deciding what's best for yourself.
Anyways I'd appreciate some feedback from thelemites and non-thelemites alike. Good or bad, preferably both. Thanks guys!

From what I know, O.T.O. doesn't have any dirty little secrets. Just make sure it is what you want.

I have Thelemic friends, some of whom are initiates.
May I just say,I find my Thelemic friends to be just as you have experienced so far, truthful and honest and interesting.I am very comfortable with these friends, even though sometimes we disagree on some principles.
I say go for it Frater. [thumbup]

I'll ask that you please don't troll my thread CactusJack. I'm looking for serious advice and input. Not a bunch oh blabbering. Make your own thread for that.

I think every single post by him is like that.
Re: Thoughts on OTO
My friend in another state joined up with the Golden Dawn in her area (er, one of the many tangent groups at elast) but she likes it allot and seemingly they leave you to yourself to progress or fail. Just mentioning it because of the relationship between the OTO and Golden Dawn but nowdays there's so many offshoots and groups who really knows what is what. What matters is how well one can seem to progress within the specific boundaries of each individual groups program. Different one's will operate differntly.
I have never been a "joiner" and work best alone but to admit it can be that I just never found the right group to begin with (or didn't want to pay their fees) lol.
What seems most important is that everything you need is inside you and a group will either nurture what's there with you , or they won't.
Hope that helps [thumbup]

I don't think there is any relationship between O.T.O. and the "Golden Dawn".

Yes, yes, I meant a partnership, such as the one O.T.O. has with A.'.A.'.
