Spiders

Post by baccuss »

Not sure if this is the correct spot to post this. I have a spider problem. Started years ago when I would see spiders that would dissipate all the time. I moved to a place in the mountains, and there were many many real spiders always about.
To the point I would kill or catch 4 different types in the house, maybe 10-30 in a day. I could easily kill 300 a day outside. I just moved to another state. And I am suddenly having more spiders around. 4 today, none since I moved in. Asked those who own the home if there is a spider problem and they said no. Is there any occult / beleif attached to spiders? Or does anyone have any idea what is going on? Getting kind of tired of these things following me around. I dont see many of the vanishing type anymore, now they are all real.
I dont do any magick per se, just some banishing rituals now and again, well lots of astral and dream travel but thats about it.

It seems there is a Native American legend about a Spider Woman. You might want to check that out. Also spiders kill other pesky bugs. Like lots of them. No point to harm them as they are doing you a big favor.

since you are an astral traveller I'm sure that in the astral plane someone would know if there is a connection between occult forces and your spider problem. try some lucid dreaming and ask your subconscious or any entity around there, if you are sure as hell that all of these spiders are attracted by you in reaction of some occult force then you should try banishing or creating a defensive servitor they are both really basic things to do and you shouldn't have problems doing them.

I don't know if this will help but take a look.

From the sounds of it maybe you are more in touch with that spirits of spiders considering you like to astral travel.

Oh, Death, оh Death, oh Death,
Won't you spare me over til another year

But what is this, that I cant see
with ice cold hands taking hold of me

When God is gone and the Devil takes hold,
who will have mercy on your soul

i know this thread is super old and there's really no point in replying... but i'm going to.

ever try to study them? i study arachnids day and night and frankly maybe you shouldn't be killing them all the time, especially if you think there's an occult-ish reason behind it. just saying, any and all spider problems are usually solved by learning about them.

This x 1000. [thumbup] I get that spiders can be scary, especially if you live somewhere that has venomous ones, but they are such important creatures in the greater scheme of things and i wince when I read about folk killing them. [crymore]

There is huge body of myth and legend worldwide, from all cultures.Webs and weaving are prevalent but not exclusively so.

Anansi is a trckster:

Why we use the term Arachnids:

There is a lot more, but I just hit up wikipedia, for some quick links, lazy today, sorry. [grin]

Not so much real spiders but...

I actually had a brush with an Anansi like "thing" and a rabbit. Don't be surprised if your ideas about them melt and transform into something else along the way... kind of like shapeshifting (the tricksterism thing).

spider -> trickster -> shapeshifting -> advanced anima / animus according to Seidr (the shapeshifting animal advocate or guide).

I know the spider is associated with the Goddesses Neith, Minerva, and were held sacred by the Moche people and certain aboriginal groups in Australia.
