Necronomicon....
NECRONOMICON... the Simon version of course... do you use it? have you used it? would you use it? .... and most importantly, do you understand it as a chaos magick grimoire?

My husband has a thing for the Necronomicon. It's essentially got a light ceremonial format with Sumerian stuff (Goetic evocation of Marduk, for example) and some Lovecraft nonsense. Is it chaos magic from the perspective of working with a system that's totally made up? Well, I suppose - but a lot of folks would be guilty of chaos magic if that was the case.
He's blub-blubbing his way through Volubilis Ex Chaosium at the moment, which is entirely Lovecraft focused, with things like the evocation of Shub-niggurath and all sorts of weird elder beasties. I keep wondering if I should be keeping a star or a branchy leaf on hand...

nope. i was pretty big into chaos magick for awhile there, can't say i ever felt the need to use it.
