why i am putting magick on the back-burner for awhile

Post by Jack-o-diamonds »

dude i am so donesies with magick for like the next million years. i am burnt-out on meditations and gnosis and sigils and this and that... if i hear the word 'chaosphere' one more time i'm gonna barf.

i am especially done with chaos magick. from now on i'm going to just stick to stupid little hoodoo charms and hexes and maybe focus more on lucid dreaming and getting info on my animus.

but most of all, i'm going to focus on my hobbies. here i was spending all my time doing rituals that i forgot to work on playing fiddle, painting, carving prints, making my candles, freakin' gardening, drawing... you know, physical things.

but yeah, i'll be around because i like talking to you guys and i can be pretty knowledgeable at times (i have enough experience, anyway).

there really was no point to this post other than to express my magical frustrations.

:>

I have been doing that for a while now .. not sure why i just don't feel connected i guess too much earthly business and daily stress to even consider focusing on such matters.

Weren't you studying to get approval into some organization if i recall ?

I guess it's just natural to take a break on everything we do.. and most needed, have the funs.

yeah, it's a long story, but basically i was on my way to the initiation and it didn't happen.

got a good two-second look at Chicago, though, and a horrifying 4 hour bus ride and 4 hour train ride with pneumonia.

These things happen - it's good to take a time out sometimes to clear the head, reflect on stuff, catch up with life. Sometimes we need to step back and take a good hard look at our own practises, why we're doing them and if they're really getting us anywhere. Totally get where you're going with this, and fully support the decision :P Take care, and I'm glad you'll still be about, because you've got a wicked sense of humour and a ton of insight :D

I know just what you mean jack, I've gone through many phases of getting intensely caught up in magick/spirituality then getting completely burnt out and taking a long break. Nowadays I don't actually practice spells/sigils/what-have-you very often at all, but I always love to learn and discuss. Your post reminded me that I've been meaning to devote more time to my hobbies too, my saxophone has been collecting dust for years [bummed]

lol it's not even that interesting it's mostly just a long story of how i got pneumonia on my way to my initiation and couldn't do it and them getting angry at me and me saying "wow that sux u r angry w/ me when i'm sooooooo sick and need to go to the hospital" and finally being like "nvm i'm dun"

slightly more to it than that, but still not interesting.

besides, i already told rin.
