Could I accidentally used magick?

Post by Hirandall »

I have magical thinking OCD(afraid of accidentally cursing things by thinking they are cursed and after obsessing for some time afraid that in my subconscious mind I think that they are cursed which basically in a nutshell afraid of some sort of direct magick kinda stuff) but it almost solved, but there is one part of my worry that i am not so sure of that is there is one time I focus and say in my mind anything related to rituals effective forever,by rituals actually I mean it is sort of ocd ritual if not mistaken where I say in my mind such and such are not cursed or somehting like that, the thing is how will anything related be interpreted?Could be possibly mean the curse or curse effect ?I am a bit worried about it,Because while I know its probably just an ocd ritual not a magickal one,but I don;t know what is difference between it and direct magick other than direct magick takes more skill and I have read of people curse things for example Busby's chair?

If there is nothing to worry about it would be nice if someone can tell me what is lacking in those rituals I perform because from what i read online, there are a lot of spells that sound easy.

And btw I imagined some energy after I do that ritual thingy.

I'm not certain I understood you right, but I can try.. did you WANT to curse that object? You might be lacking intent, that would be important.

Also I have no idea if this is good advice but if you are worried you have cursed something, cant you 'un-curse' it too? Cleanse it in some way.

No I don't want to curse that object, quite sure about it,actually I am not exactly familiar with magick so I dono how to cleanse even if I need to.Actually it is not an object but type of object that I worried about ,would all such types of object get cursed if I use it that is what I am worried about.

Intent is very important so cursing something when you don't even want to sounds extremely unlikely :)

Is it something you fear or dislike about them that make you think you curse them by using them? Maybe thinking through that would help.

Don't know shit about cleansing either but do any of these seem convenient? Just make sure you dont start obsessing with cleansing stuff instead of worrying about if it might be cursed. :)

I have done ocd-ish mental rituals that say such and such won't lead to curse for this thing and then I said in my mind something along the lines of rituals ,anything related to rituals effective forever something like that because I kinda focus a bit and imagine some energy which makes me worry a little but anyway yeah prolly nothing to worried about.

If someone curse someone else to die it is more dangerous or the second scenario if the first person curse for example the chair that the other person sit to make anyone who sit there die is more dangerous?Would sitting on the chair trigger the curse everytime worse or first scenario scarier because it is conditionless?

Belief is a powerful thing. If you are attributing every bad thing that happens to a certain object, I think it's the same as cursing it. One way people create altars and give statues and objects power is by giving them credit for good things that happen. So what you might try instead is every time something positive happens to you, thank the object for it as if it did it and leave it a penny (small coin) or something. Doesn't have to be money, can be a small offering of anything, but that way it's almost training your brain to say this is good luck instead of bad and it will be so.
We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of disociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age. ~ H.P. Lovecraft

Stupid ocd try to convince me that computer mouse get cursed making me doing a lot of pointless stuff as punishment to make sure the new one is confirmed safe or something, basically afraid of chain-cursing using a computer mouse to cause curse into other thing and afraid whether that the other thing would cause curse into into another thing.

@Serenitydawn

Would it be permanent?

Hm, ok.. what do you think it would do if it was cursed? Make you click on stuff with spyware in it, fuck up your computer, bring bad luck in general? And did anything of that sort happen? And could it be that using the computer in general is the problem, like you feel you waste time on it or look at stuff you shouldnt? That doesnt matter to anybody else than you and everybody does it, so to the degree it would bring on a curse we all got it. [grin]

Well ocd tries to convince me something about going to hell.so do you think sufficient delusional beliefs strong enough to program cause and effect for example like if i click this thing then would doing this thing cause doing another thing to cause me to go to hell, well I obsess with it for a long time so would my subconscious be convince of that? And if so would it have the power what do you think?

No, I dont think anything anybody at all does will make them go to hell, probably because I don't believe in hell.

If for the sake of discussion I pretend to believe in the christian hell, I think the reasons for ending up there are something entirely else than obsessing about it. I might be wrong, but some of them might even see it as a good thing to be afraid of doing something to end up there.

The answer to your question is a resounding '”Yes, magic can happen 'accidentally.'” The reason is because magic is the intersection of will and energy. I will tell you a story that I have directly from a source I trust which seems to relate to this question. I leave the question of its veracity to your judgment.
I have a friend who lives in a house with two other housemates. One of these was a heavy marijuana user and a disruptive influence. Eventually, the landlord began the process to evict him. The drug user blamed my friend for this process. One night, in the 3 AM hour, my friend had disturbing dreams and upon waking in that twilight state where it is easier to perceive the astral saw a diffuse sickly-yellow humanoid shape. He immediately had the impression this was a thought form generated by the addict (perhaps it would be ill-defined due to he lack of skill of the creator). So, he poured all his will into performing (silently) the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. Interestingly enough, he says that the other two were heard mulling about before he had completed the ritual. Generally they had to get up early for work so this was odd. He is of the opinion that the same thought-form disturbed the other housemate and when he destroyed it with the ritual, the energy snapped back to the sender and woke him as well. He says that the addict has no occult knowledge and certainly would never have believed he did such a thing. It was a completely unconscious operation.
So this would argue that, under the correct circumstances, magic can happen accidentally.
