Horror Fans
I have just started a new website called "All Things Horror" and it's pretty self explanitory. I have a ton of pages, I talk about games, attractions, tv shows, movies, books, collectibles and whatever else I can think of that has to do with horror. The website address is http://allthingshorror.siterubix.com. Leave me a comment if you like, I love to discuss horror things. I rarely have fun anymore, since I mostly live for my daughter. I was told I would burn out if I didn't do something for fun. This is my fun! Join me! [eg]
We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of disociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age. ~ H.P. Lovecraft

Re: Horror Fans
I'm a big fan of psychological horror and am interested in the paralysing effect that horror has on the human body. I reckon if we could harness the ability to put ourselves in a horror-induced state of meditation it would open quite a few doors mentally - especially the sensory ones, as your body comes up into a much higher state of awareness.
Whats your favourite form of horror, and which movies or books best illustrate that style?

It would only be an issue if it's commercial. [thumbup]
I prefer my horror on the psychological side also and I'm not a big fan of the gory stuff.I loved Hammer Horror films especially, but Ialso like the hokey stuff and comedy horror. [grin]

I love it all, and thanks Tsukuyomi. Gore, zombies, psychological, magickal creatures, whatever. I especially love Lovecraft, that's my favorite!

Yeah that one was good, but not among the best of his stories. Try "Call to Cthulhu," "The Shadow Over Innsmouth," "At The Mountains of Madness,"From Beyond," and "The Dreams at Witch House." They are all good and I hope to read all of his storied eventually, but these are really good and often lead to strange dreams. Oh also "That Thing on the Doorstep."TSUKUYOMI wrote:some months ago i borrowed 2 lovecraft books from a friend. ive only read 2 stories so far and plan to read one story before going to bed whenever i have time to do that. no weird dreams so far although the story the rats in the walls left some weird aftertaste.

Re: Horror Fans
I watched the Conjuring.
It's 'loosely' based on a true story.Very, very, loosely actually...
I was not impressed at all,but it did make me Roflfloflmao when I was stone cold sober, which is no mean feat,actually... [crazy] [eg] [greensmile]
If I review it here,I'll put it in spoiler quotes,so as not to blow it for those who might want to see it.
