What is covering your hand with one eye symbolizes?

Post by frankky77 »

I saw a man with a black suit do it once. He was standing in a corner of a store and as I walked past him he snapped to attention and covered his left eye with his palm, staring straight ahead the whole time. Very strange. I figured it was probably some masonic thing.

I've never heard of anything of this nature, but it's possible it's some kind of folk protection or curse gesture. Might also have been a personal quirk.

I've heard conspiracy theories refer to it as an "illuminati" symbol, when it's done in music videos and such, but that sounds like tinfoil nonsense to me.
"The path of the Sage is called
'The Path of Illumination'
he who gives himself to this path
is like a block of wood
that gives itself to the chisel-
cut by cut it is honed to perfection"

- DDJ, Verse 27

"It's still magic even if you know how it's done." - Terry Pratchett

By placing your hand over your left eye it protects you from unseen forces. I too think it is a masonic thing but not sure on that. There is a bit of relation to the "Eye of Horus" but stay away for the Illuminati stuff it's not go for anyone ::)

As far as I know it is a protection against the evil eye used since medieval ages because they believed something like the left side is the entrance for evil forces/devil or such superstitious things.
bye bye

I believe it's a reference to the Eye of Horus and Illuminati nonsense which is mostly likely false or irrelevant as hell.

I have to support Ramscha. It could be related to Hamsa Hand symbol?
